Rachael was taught by her best friend to never be the first to turn up to a party and never be the last to leave the party.

Friday soon came and Rachael was excited to go to the party. It wasn't her first or anything but it was a famously known party that is quite hard to get an invite. It wasn't one of those parties that you must show an invitation for but that didn't mean just anyone could rock up. You had to be known among the 'Nobles' at the school to go. She was lucky that she got invited by Mason otherwise she could get kicked out.
She gave up on her quest to get Michael Saden's attention but rather focused on Mason Hitherworth. She had two more Biology lessons with her and they conversed quite a lot during those two lessons.
Rachael arrived home to silence which was usual for her as her parents didn't get home until around eight. She went over to the kitchen to pick up a snack and made her way to her room. She took out her phone and opened up her Instagram to see a request. It was from Mason.
The girl almost chocked on the Oreo she was eating and rubber her eyes to see if it wasn't her imagination. It was real. She'd actually been requested by a Royal. Rachael was shocked at least but actually really elated. She accepted her request and put her phone down. She didn't need to follow her back as she already follows her. Practically anyone who's heard of Damington Prep follows her and the rest of the Royals.
After doing some work and taking a shower, Rachael went to her wardrobe to look for a dress to wear. She needed something that would make her known but not something that would stand out too much. She didn't want to be seen as a try-hard at the party so she needed something simple but sexy at the same time. She dragged her finger along her clothes until she found what she was looking for.
It was a baby pink satin dress from Dolce and Gabbana she smiled as she laid it down on her bed and proceeded to do her makeup. She settled on a simple makeup look nothing too extravagant. When she was done she slipped on the dress and went to look at herself in the mirror.
The dress stopped mid-thigh and hugged her curves without being too tight. She took a pair of white strap high heels and put them on which made her sun-kissed legs look longer. She looked over to the clock and smirked when she saw the time.
It was almost nine and the party started at seven. She definitely wouldn't be the first person to arrive. She left her room and went downstairs to where her parents were talking.
"Hi, mum. Hi dad," she greeted them.
"Hi, darling. Did you have a good day?" the girl nodded.
"Where are you going at this time?" her dad asked.
"A party," she told them.
"Whose party?" her dad pressed.
"Michelle Branningstar's," she replied.
"Be back by eleven," he said looking at the documents he had in front of him.
"Twelve."
"11:30. That's my final answer."
"Fine."
She left the house and went to her car. She typed in the address that Mason texted her the other day and started driving. Michelle's house wasn't that far away from her but it was more deeply into the richer part of the town.
She parked her car and got out. She looked up to the house and stared at how beautiful it was. Her parents were rich like filthy rich so she wasn't surprised by how they could afford something like this. She walked towards the house and the music became louder as she neared it.
She entered and the music was pulsating through in her ears. Many people were dancing whilst some were having a few drinks and talking. Seeing everyone with someone made her feel a bit lonely. She'd never been to a party by herself she always went with Callie.
She went over to get a drink thinking that it would loosen her up a bit. She figured she could use the opportunity to make some friends. She wasn't going to make it through senior year by herself. She took a glass and poured herself some vodka with a mix of sprite. She wasn't looking to get drunk at the party as she didn't want to embarrass herself.
She looked around the room to see if she could spot any of the Royals. It would be easier to make conversation with them at a party than at school but knowing them they would probably be talking to each other somewhere upstairs.
"What's a pretty girl like you doing here alone?" a boy whose speech was slightly slurred asked. Rachael could tell that he was drunk.
Rachael turned her head to glance at the boy momentarily then turned back to glance around the crowd.
"I'm waiting for someone," she replied.
"Oh, well how about I keep you company until your friend come?" he edged closer to the girl who edged away from the boy.
"I'm fine," she kept looking around the room hoping it would show that she was uninterested. However, the boy kept persisting her and Rachael began to get a bit uncomfortable.
"Let's dance," he tried to pull her closer to him but she pulled her arm away from him and started walking away. "Hey, come back."
He grabbed her wrist and Rachael shrieked and started tugging away from his grip.
"Let me go," she yelled. The people around her turned to look at the scene in front of them.
"Why are you being so difficult," he complained.
"I don't want to dance with you. Gosh, do you not know how to handle a girl saying no to you."
"Hey. She said she doesn't want to dance so let her go," a boy came out of nowhere trying to stop the dispute.
It was Michael. Rachael felt relief rush over her as she was getting very uncomfortable. The boy glared at Michael and soon let go of her wrist without saying a word. No one would dare to say anything back to someone like Michael.
"Whatever," he nudged Michael before glancing at Rachael who was holding her sore wrist. She stared at the boy walking past and felt like giving him the finger but didn't want to cause any more problems.
Everyone dispersed and Rachael started walking towards Michael to thank him for helping her out until someone bumped into her and spilt a drink on her pricey satin dress.
"What the hell," she shrieked before immediately stomping off to find a bathroom to clean the dress before it would make a large stain.
'And this is why I don't go to parties often.'
