Chapter 15

     Katatapos lang ni Marga na ipakita ang core niya at sa loob ng 15 minutes na paghihintay ko dito sa backstage kasama si Wada, she did nothing but to glare at me making me uncomfortable. But those stares and glares she's giving me felt somewhat familiar though I don't know why, it's kinda weird really.

     Crimson told me it's my turn to showcase my core while he's busy helping Marga through the stairs. She gave me a small pat at the back and a big warm smile saying encouraging words, halatang halata niya siguro na kinakabahan na ako.
This is my first time to use my magic at a place like this, usually kasi sa dorm lang namin ako gumagamit ng magic ko o kaya kapag gusto ko ng cold water, it's nice to drink cold water every time.

"You can do this Cathalina, easy peasy" I murmured to myself but after seeing the crowd I think I went pale then utter "Oh dear I doubt it"

"Waahhhh hey Ice, I can call you Ice right?"-I nod at the MC which I heard her name is Melissa.

"Okayyyy all you have to do is show your core and showcase it, just enjoy what you're doing"-she instructed me and gave me a warm smile similar to what Marga showed me earlier.

     I felt every single pair of eyes that is now boring on my body, gosh I felt like too exposed right now. Curiosity and excitement are gleaming in the audience eyes making me feel uncomfortable. I tried searching for my brother and friends and both of them encourage me and told me through their eyes that I should relax, that I can do this!

     I heave a deep sigh and imagine the things I wanted to form. I aim my palm unto the floor and slowly act like I'm pulling something from the ground and just like in my mind butterflies slowly form from the ground and freely fly inside the gym. Nakarinig ako ng few wows from the crowd and I peek at them and they are looking at my ice butterfly with awe. I now put my palms in front of me and it slowly glow as few mermaids are maid that is swimming in the air, almost 20 of them are now roaming at the gym together with my butterflies.

     As I snap my finger all of them disappear, at sa pagkalaho nila kasabay nun ay ang unti unting pag ambon ng snow from the gym but unlike ordinay snow once my snow fell unto the ground it vanish. It is somehow like a hologram but you can touch it as long as hindi pa ito nabagsak sa lupa. I felt satisfied when I saw all of their faces, even if it is a little bit chilly they are still giving warm smiles even fire clan who really hates cold are now smiling and just like a child trying to catch the snows with different snowflakes.

"Wowww look at that naging instant White Christmas ang theme ng party natin ngayon, awww what a lovely performance you gave us Ice. Para kaming bumalik sa pagkabata because of that, it's amazing knowing that you needed a lot of energy for that!"-she looks really amaze by what she had witness a while ago.

"It's actually my first time to use that much kind of magic, lagi lang kasi akong nasa dorm namin fooling around using my core"-I bit my lip nervously dahil hiyang hiya na talaga kong tumayo dito being watched with hundreds of people.

"Wooaaahhhhh kaibigan ko yan!"-I even hear Flora shout that making almost everyone chuckle

"Hahaha wow, when they told me na nareceive mo lang kamakailan ang core mo I couldn't believe them"-She's still praising me before the other committee told her to proceed on the next part.

"Okay now may we call on the other 2 candidates to proceed at the stage for the final part of our Muse of the Night?" Naunang lumabas si Wada giving her smirk as she walk and behind her is Marga who is grinning at me silently stating that I did a great job

"Why am I having this hunch that you'll win?"-pabulong na sabi sakin ni Marga after makalapit sakin.

"Hahaha don't be like that, you deserve to have the title tonight Marga"-I truthfully said to her, sobrang ganda niya ngayon and even her performance earlier is beautiful, gosh good thing I'm straight as a ruler.

"Oh girls come on. I'll definitely win tonight, I always win"-Wada boredly said to us while picking on her nails, tss grabe napakaconfident naman ng babaeng ito eh maganda nga nakakasawa naman ang mukha.

"Okay now is your time to vote, once again these are our lovingly pretty ladies!"-Melissa  introduced us once again one by one. I meekly wave at the people who is now voting by throwing their bowl of magic to the giant bowls behind us para hindi namin makita kung aling bowl ang unang mapupuno.

"Remember 1 vote per core only ang rule kaya kahit gano pa kadaming ball of magic ang ibato niyo it will still be counted as one"-melissa rolled her eyes after paalalahanan ang mga students na paulit ulit bumuto at isa na dun ang mga kaibigan ko, I just internally face palm after seeing them.

"You know what, you'll definitely win Ice. My hunch are always right"-pahabol pang sabi ni Marga making sure that Wada heard it. Tss ito talagang babaeng ito pasimple din kung mang away eh hahaha.

"Okayyyy for our Muse of the neyttt! Drum rolls please"-I immediately hear the sound of drum rolls, grabe pasuspense pa ha. Argh I can't wait to go back with our table ngalay na akong ngumiti at tumayo dito, gosh I'm not even a model!

"The Muse of the neyt issss... Ms. Ingrid Cathalina Emperial from Ice Clan!"-The crowd went uproar after announcing who the winner was at parang nabingi ata ako sa sinabing pangalan. Like holy cow, how can I even win without doing that much?

     Marga is now also squealing like a high school girl at may pasabi sabi sabi siyang 'I told ya you'll win' while jumping up and down. On the other hand Wada is giving me death glares and scowling at me for no apparent reasons, argh pinsan nga siya ni Crimson para ding pinaglihi sa sama ng loob eh, like seriously? What is wrong with their family. She stomp her feet habang palabas na ng gym, poor girl grabe grabe naman kasing mag expect eh self proclaim tuloy pagkapanalo niya. But I don't pity her, come in she's so mean to me.

     Inalalayan ako ni Aldus sa designated na table para sa Muse and Escort of the Night which is sa center stage. Binigyan naman nila kami ng cakes sa table namin kasabay din ng ibang tables sa baba. I saw Marga walking back to her table then she wave at me a little then ate her own cake together with her boyfriend I think.

"Sabi ko na ikaw talaga mananalo eh, grabe Ice yung ginawa mo kanina. Gosh it's giving me a goosebumps, imagine butterflies coming from the ground akala ko sa tv ko lang yun mapapanuod. Then acrobatic mermaids na sobrang gaganda, well anyways that not the point hahaha. But the main highlight nung ginawa mo kanina ay yung pag ulan ng snow at snowflakes, para akong nangibang bansa for a while. Your core Ice is not just cold but it somehow emanates warmness from the inside"-he fondly said while eating his own cake.

"Well I'm glad na you guys appreciate what I did earlier. Sobrang kinakabahan kasi ako, and those things are the first thing that comes into my mind nung sinabi nila na I have to show my core"-I shrugg my shoulders and tried to explain, hmmm this cake really taste good.

"And I appreciate din na that's how people feel whenever seeing or feeling my magic. Pakiramdam ko I'm no longer an outcast who only seeks attention or whatever"-I rolled my eyes and honestly told him, at least may napagsasabihan ako ngayon ng nararamdamam ko.

"Well your core doesn't only gives warm emotions, always remember that your core also gives life and hope to people, okay?"-Aldus smiled at me so I nod my head at what he said kahit na hindi ko naman talaga naintindihan. Well he's being nice so that means what he said was nice too, right?

     Well I hope it doesn't stop giving hope and life, I hope I would never have to use my core to violence. I hope.

Ps. Sorry for the typos and grammar, I usually write during night before I sleep kaya minsan sobrang daming typos. I don't really reread chapter before publishing it kaya ganun. Sa grammar ko naman hahaha I'm still working on it.
