authors note.

Why in Dragon Age Inquisition can you not talk to Kieran for more than one sentence?! He is absolutely weird, adorable and I just want to talk to him nonstop.

Also, why does the game hardly acknowledge the voices in your head after you drink from the Well?! Except for a few short angry personal cut scenes between certain characters, like Sera and Solas and a sassy short passive aggressive mention by Cullen at the war table, no one really talks about it.

I wish the voices would've played a bigger role in everything because that's kind of a big deal... Maybe the voices would rap about everything, and that's all the Inquisitor would hear while trying to focus. I don't know why that's the first thing I thought but cool. The voices would definitely rap "Ice Ice Baby".

inquisitor's point of view.

The bright blue sky almost hurts my eyes with its intensity as I wander out into the garden of Skyhold.

Mother Giselle is serenely pacing the garden, and occasionally talking to those who walk by. She looks up at me with a calm, polite smile and then continues with a conversation between her and a stoic Inquisition soldier.

Her unfair suspicion and treatment of Dorian still made me upset with her, but she had my respect for helping the Inquisition from the beginning when it was deemed as a small, untrustworthy group of heretics.

I needed a break from the hassles of being the Inquisitor, and the garden was the perfect place for me to feel somewhat relaxed. I mean- how relaxed can I be? It's not like the whole world depends on me or anything.

"Inquisitor!" A soft, high-pitched voice says with confidence.

I look down from the elf root I was fiddling with to see Morrigan's son Kieran standing near me. He gave me a curious look, and then smiled kindly at me.

"Hello, Kieran." I smile softly in return.

"Do you know how old your blood is?" He asks casually. It wasn't the first time he had brought up this topic, but it still caught me somewhat off guard. I know Morrigan told me he was special, but I'm not sure what that exactly means.

I pretend to count on my fingers and then give him a shrug. "How old do you think?"

His eyes are lost in thought and he then simply states, "very old- too old to count on fingers."

I can't help but laugh at his somewhat odd charm. "Do I look that old?"

"Not on the outside."

I smile again until I heard echoing mutters in my mind. They usually sounded more pronounced and decipherable, but I couldn't make up what the voices where trying to say currently.

"You have a friend too. I heard mother talking about the ruins and the Well of Sorrows." Kieran's voice snaps me back into reality.

"I have many friends." I say, thinking he was referring to Cole or Solas, but he shakes his head.

"Not a friend like that." He says in his usual blunt fashion. "I mean in your head, Inquisitor."

My eyebrows raise and as I go to ask a million questions, Morrigan walks hurriedly over to Kieran and scolds him for not eating all day.

"Don't bother the Inquisitor, Kieran."

"She has a friend, mother! A very old one." He says excitedly to Morrigan. She pets his hair and looks up at me with a certain expression that I cannot decipher.
