Doctor Kim Namjoon has been illegally been experimenting on six supernatural boys from the time of their birth to adulthood. Never having seen the outside world or anyone but each other, and raised like animals, they live their lives in bitterness a...
Maia calmly fastened the belt around her waist, which added another bow to the already plentiful ensemble.

"Miss Maia?" Hannah lightly tapped at the door before entering, "Mr. Kim is ready for you now."
The young woman nodded before grabbing her purse and taking one last look around her bedroom.

It was all she had ever known and yet she still knew it was far too extravagant to be considered a normal bedroom. Before she turned to exit her room, her eyes caught slight movement coming from a shadow at the far end of the bedroom. It wasn't something that was unusual, at least not to her. Every now and then in the dark, she noticed churning, taking form around her in the shadows. Never once had she told Namjoon or Hannah about this. It was something she liked to keep secret. Whether it was just her mind playing tricks on her, or an actual anomaly, the idea of she being the only to know about it in this whole world made her feel as if she had one miniature part of her life independent from Namjoon.
Maia, accompanied with Hannah, made their way through the connecting hallways to the grand staircase, where Namjoon was waiting impatiently at the bottom.
"There you are!" He impatiently checked his watch, "I've been standing here for thirty minutes."
Maia reached the bottom of the staircase, with her gaze on the floor.
"I thought I told you to dress quickly." He snarled, to which Maia squeaked out a quiet apology.
He raised his fist above her face.
She shut her eyes tightly.
"Well, are you coming?"
Maia opened her eyes and saw her 'father' standing several paces away by the front doors looking annoyed at her straggling.
"Oh-yes sorry." Maia anxiously scurried out the door, and into the waiting automobile.

If there was one thing that never failed to lift Maia's spirits, it was when Namjoon allowed her to visit the little village of 'Tor Zur Freiheit.' Everytime he brought her, Namjoon would tell her some random fact about the village's history and she would merely nod along, pretending she hadn't heard it a dozen times already.
"Here," Namjoon handed her several Euros as he helped her out of the car.
"I'm here to talk with Dr. Schneider," He informed taking her arms as they walked along the cobblestone path, "You run along to the bakery and get yourself a treat."
Namjoon stopped in front of a brightly painted green building, "Go inside, if you need me you know where to find me."
After thanking Namjoon, she walked into the bakery, still being watched from behind.
No Escape...
"Guten tag, Maia (Good afternoon, Maia)!" The old woman behind the counter greeted, immediately recognizing her young friend.
"Guten tag Frau Becker (Good afternoon Mrs. Becker)." Maia carefully recited the words the woman had taught her a few months prior.
"Du kannst sehr gut Deutsch (You are getting very good at speaking German)," Mrs. Becker clapped her hands in approval before gesturing to the glass display case filled with baked goodies.
After much deliberation, Maia settled on an apple tart she hadn't tried before and kept the old widow company. Eventually, more customers came in, faces Maia had seen before, but didn't really know. Since her friend was busy now, Maia decided to go on her own way towards Dr. Schneider's residence and office.
Maia had been there multiple times before, mostly after her birth to have some tests run. No matter how many times she visited, Maia just could never feel comfortable walking into that house. It had nothing to do with the way the building looked, despite its old appearance, more so, the person who lived there. Dr. Schneider was an aging man, and how Namjoon, a young, Korean doctor, became acquainted with him she would never know. It was a curiosity that she preferred to stay a mystery, though Dr. Schneider and Namjoon's bond was a strange thing indeed.
With each step on the rocky path towards the grey building located at the heart of the town, Maia felt a bit of her courage dissolve upon watching it appear in the distance.
She opened the wooden door of the house, to her left was an examination room where Dr. Schneider attended to all of his patients. Further down and to the right, was the heavy door that opened to his office. If he and Namjoon were talking behind those closed doors, they must've been using very hushed tones. There was a certain stillness that hung in the air, that made Maia shiver. She did her best not to make a sound as she crept along the old wooden boards beneath her feet. There was something about the atmosphere that made her feel as though her presence would be best unknown.
Carefully, she pressed her ear to the door, and listened. Sure enough, Namjoon and his doctor pal were in there in what seemed to be deep conversation. She couldn't quite make out what they were saying, she was right about them speaking quietly, but they spoke hurriedly in German as well. She could only make out a few words, her name being one of them. She made a list of them in her head,
folter
verzweifelt
and versuch 04.
Maia didn't know what any of them meant, but she figured she could easily ask Mrs. Becker discreetly later.
When she heard Namjoon rise from his chair, stationed in front of the desk if she remembered correctly, Maia decided it was time to go. She didn't want to be caught eavesdropping, who knows how Namjoon would react. Without making a sound, Maia quickly walked out of the house and shut the door with a small thud. As she scampered down the street, desperately trying to get back to the place where she said that she'd be waiting, she felt a tugging feeling at the bottom of her stomach. The kind that seems to tell you something bad was going to happen soon.
