"Please come back home safe," Brei's mother told her. She could see her mother's eyes hearing her voice.

"Mum, you know I will. I just have to write a short story about this place and I'll go home," she replied as she uses her head and shoulder to support the phone.

Brei was putting the frame right above her jars. Those part of her room are memories. She put her tree painting in a frame so it won't catch any dust and she's just that proud of it.

Brei heard her mum sighed heavily. "Of all places, why there Brei? You're not hoping-"

"I'm not anymore mum. I've seen that he has moved on and I have to as well. I'll see you and dad in a few weeks, okay? I love you." And with that Brei hung up on her mum.

Bringing that guy up just makes her head spins. She knows that he probably moved on somewhere and the signs are too obvious.

"I guess my only choice is to find happiness within my self now," she uttered and fell right in her bed. That hiking got her super tired. It was such a long long day.

Brei was ready to fall into a slumber when her phone rang. She took it and looked at who's calling. It was Mikael so she answered.

"Hmm?"

"Someone's tired from a short hike. On for some adventure tonight?" He asked her.

Brei opened her eyes. Now, she's wide awake. Where on this city does he wants to go now?

"Hmm... I wonder what kind of adventure that is," she replied.

"You'll see and plus, I assure you, it's really fun," he said excitingly. "So you up for it?"

"Alright, I'll meet you at same meet up place," she said and hung up.

Okay so now Brei seemed creeped out at his sudden adventurous side. Yeah, it's nice that they kind of get along but it's still a surprise how he is like doing all the searching and planning. But anyways, it shouldn't matter cause it's fun with him too.

"Brei! Here," Lorn shouted as soon as he saw her.

"So, where are we going?" She asked him as soon as she was in front of him.

"But first let me ask, are you scared of the dark?" He asked Brei with a big evil smirk on his face.

"Are we going to haunted house?" She asked scared.

"No silly, but you might get scared," he answered.

"Hold on! Let me breath and think about whether I should go with you or not!"

Brei thought about it while she glances back and down. She's not a coward and they're not going to a haunted house. But he's a stranger!

Oh! Whatever he'll keep me safe!

"Let's go!"

Forlorn grinned devilishly as she shout that. He isn't bringing any harm, he's just super sure, she'll find happiness there.

They are now at the end of a board walk where it was super dark and palm trees were all over. They are headed down and she feels chills all over.

"You're not scared, are you?" Lorn asked.

"N-no!"

Then she saw a kayak and gasped. "Are you serious? A kayak instead of a canoe? Are there no alligators or crocodiles or sharks here?"

She just heard Lorn laugh at her. "Quit panicking and just get in," he said.

He chose a kayak for two so she won't feel that scared. And well so he could do the maneuvering.

When they're all ready he started paddling. She's scared alright, especially because the moon was their only light!

Brei's heart starting beating so fast when he was heading straight in between nypa palm trees and mangroves. It was super dark inside but he decided to paddle inside.

"Are you serious?" Brei asked looking back at Forlorn who was just smiling.

"Look ahead and you'll see what I'm talking about," he said.

Really worried, she chose to trust his words and she looked straight ahead. It took her a few minutes to realize and see what he was talking about.

"Oh my God!" She exclaimed as she covers her mouth. "There's no way I'm seeing this! Is this-"

"It is for real, Brei."

She looked back at him for a moment and smiled, the realest one. It's been her dream to know what it's like to go see thousands of fireflies and now she knows how it feels. It feels like she's somewhere in fairyland. It's like a dream to her and it's all thanks to...

Brei looked at Mikael who was also looking straight at her with a smile. Her heart then was pounding inside and she had to look front while holding a hand touching her chest.

It can't be...

"You know, sometimes the places you think are scary, are the places that'll give you the happiness and excitement. Same as, the darkest night lets the stars to twinkle and be more visible for us to adore."

Brei heard Lorn say that made her cry for some reason. She thinks she can finally write something out of this town and when she's done, she'll go back to the real world.

"Thank you, Mikael," she said genuinely and look back to show him that real smile again.

There it goes again, Lorn thought. The invisible wind that blows whenever she smiles like that to him. And his heart somewhat skipping a beat...
