Leo tucked my hair behind my ear and sighed."Listen, you can't keep moping around like that." I snorted."It's not that easy you know. The guy that I like, claims that he likes me back and wants to do things with me behind his girlfriend's back. And do you want to hear the worst part? I still like him. Even if he is a prick. Why do girls keep liking guys that are pricks? I will never understand." Leo started to laugh."Don't laugh, you asshole, it's not funny." I smacked him as hard as I could."I know clumsy one, I know. He is not as bad as you think he is nor he wants to cheat on Serena. It's just that you're special to him." he explained but I wasn't convinced.
"How am I special to him when he plans to go shopping for a prom dress with his girlfriend in front of me? I don't understand why you keep defending him..." I snapped at him."Because I kind of care about you.I'm defending him because I get why he is doing what he is doing. Besides if you are pissed about the prom, let's just go together, it's not like I have anything better to do that night." he suggested and I smiled at him."Fine, let's go together." he smiled back.
"I have an idea." he announced cheerfully."What kind of idea?" I asked raising my brow."We are going to have so much fun!" he exclaimed in delight."What kind of idea Leo?" I kept asking but he was lost in his own world."You will forget about Jason and all your problems!" he sounded so happy."Leo..."I said and poked his arm."We're going to a club." I giggled shaking my head."Leo, we can't go to a club. Look at what I am wearing. Besides my mom is working at the hospital right now, she won't let me go to a club while she is not home." I explained and he snorted.
"Text her right now that we changed our plans and you're sleeping at my house tonight." he gave me my phone."She won't let me sleep in a random boy's house. I'm sure that she will get the wrong idea." he rolled his eyes."Tell her that Natalie wants to hang out with you. Come on now, don't be a party pooper." I glared at him at first but I gave in. This vampire is something else.
I did as Leo instructed. I went upstairs and wore a black skirt, a black blouse, and some tights. I put a little make-up on my face, nothing special just some mascara and red lipstick. I didn't have enough time to do something with my hair since it was already pretty late. I wore some black high heels, they were my mother's and I hoped that she wouldn't look for them. I went back to the living room were Leo was waiting for me scrolling through his phone.
"I'm ready!" I announced and he gave me a thumbs up."You look nice!" he complimented and I grinned."Thank you." I said."Aren't you going to bring with you a change of clothes?" he asked me."There's no need to if we come back while my mother is sleeping."I explained and he sighed."Fine, whatever, you'll borrow Natalie's clothes." he motioned me to follow him.
"How are we going to get into the club exactly?" I asked him when we got inside the car."Well, we are not going to an ordinary club." he answered smirking and turned the engine on."What do you mean?" I inquired."Well, the club's owner is a vampire and since I am a vampire too, we will get special treatment." he said casually like it wasn't a big deal."Wow, there are so many supernatural beings in this town." Leo chuckled."This town is like a supernatural magnet actually." he said and I looked at him surprised."Are you serious?" I exclaimed and he nodded."Yes, I am. I've been in too many places in my life but this town is full of creatures like us." he told me.
We entered into the most infamous part of the city."Leo..." I said worriedly."Yes..." he was looking for a place to park the car."Is this club dangerous or something?" I asked and felt my pulse quicken."Karma relax, even if it was dangerous, I'm a fucking vampire and you're a witch, no one can harm us." he assured me.
He parked into an ally."Listen, I think it's wiser if we don't tell anyone that you're a witch. So, you'll wait here by the car for a few minutes and I'll come to find you. I need to talk to Pablo, the owner, and tell him that I have a human with me.I'll ask him to keep his people, a gang of vampires, away from you. They are not bad guys but if they see you with me they will want to mess with you and knowing you, you'll just choke them with your roots or throw them across the club and we don't want that." he explained."Fine, I'll wait for you here." I said and sat on the car's hood.
"It's a little chilly, why don't you wait inside the car?" he asked and I rolled my eyes."Don't worry Leo, I'll be fine, just give me your jacket." I said and he handed me his leather jacket. I wore it and he chuckled."It suits you even if it's oversized." I looked at him surprised."Can you take a picture of me? I want to see it." I batted my lashes."Whatever the clumsy girl wants."Leo took his phone out smirking. He took a few pictures with his phone while I was striking different poses."This one is cute." he showed me one picture where I was smiling and looking to my right."Sent to me, I want to post it on Instagram." I told him and that's what he did.
After that, he vanished and I just waited for him to come back. That was when I heard footsteps. Two college boys approached me. They looked a little bit drunk."Hey there." one of them said and I looked away. I wasn't going to talk to them."I'm talking to you, gorgeous." he raised the sound of his voice but I wasn't going to reply to him anyhow. "What are you doing all alone?" he asked and they came closer.
The one who was talking had blonde hair while the other one was a brunette. They were fine-looking but they weren't as hot as Jason or Leo."You can't just act like we are not here..." the brunette pointed out and he was kind of right, they were already making me feel uneasy. It's was the first time that he spoke. I just wished that they wouldn't get any closer to me because then I would feel threatened."That's just rude, gorgeous." the blonde said smirking.
"What's your name?" the brunette asked and I just prayed that Leo would save me."Tell us, baby..." the blonde purred and I cringed. "You know what Trevor? I think that we should make her notice us."The brunette told the blonde whose name apparently was Trevor. The way he said it made me shiver."Oh, I want to make that little bitch scream my name." the blonde said with a smile that scared me. I'm pretty sure that I'll end up choking them with my roots. They have gotten pretty close to me.
"We know you want it babe." the brunette bit his lip."Look at her, she practically begging for it."The blonde added."Leave me alone." I was going to end up killing them by mistake if they didn't stop. What scared me the most though is the fact that there was a possibility that my powers wouldn't work.
"Leaving you alone is the last thing that I want to do."The brunette said rubbing his crotch. I wanted to puke. It was disgusting."Jesus." I looked away."Oh, look she is acting shy." the blonde said and tried to grab my thigh but I slapped his hand."I love the girls that play hard to get, gorgeous." he whispered to me and grabbed my hair.
"Hello boys!" a cheerful familiar voice sounded from behind them. I sighed relieved, it was Leo. Both their heads snapped towards the voice but no one was there. Suddenly, Leo jumped from a fucking building to the ground and when he landed the cement broke under his feet. That was literally the coolest thing that I have ever seen."What the fuck?" the brunette muttered and I laughed."Run!" the blonde yelled and they started running.
"Grab them, Karma."Leo ordered and I clenched my fists. Roots came out of the ground and swirled around them."You're getting better." he observed."Thanks, Leochu." I winked and gave him a toothy grin. Leo approached the guys with a devious smirk on his face. Then something fascinating and terrifying at the same time happened. His eyes turned from that beautiful piercing blue to black and long fangs appeared in his mouth. The two college boys screamed in agony while I was staring at him stunned.
He grabbed the blonde boy by the hair and pulled him closer. The boy started wiggling, trying to escape from the roots but I clenched my fists harder and the roots like a python wrapped around the boys even tighter. Leo bit the boy on the neck and the brunette started to scream. After a few seconds, Leo stopped and licked his lips.
"Jesus, you taste nice for a rapist." he said amazed."Anyway..." he cleared his throat."This is the last time that you'll ever do that to a girl. Do you understand?" Leo's voice was loud and clear and they both nodded at his words."Let them go, girl. They'll never do anything like that again." he instructed and I freed them.
"Also..."Leo said in an authoritative tone."Apologize to my clumsy friend over there. Her name is Karma." he ordered them and the boys walked towards me slowly."We're sorry." both of them said at the same time like they were hypnotized. After that, they left, walking as if nothing happened, as if they were dazed.
"Karma."Leo said in a serious tone."That was so fucking cool." he sang and gave me a heartwarming smile."It was."I admitted."You look so badass with my jacket." he squeezed my cheeks."I think that you should give it to me." I suggested."No way, that's my favorite jacket." he scoffed."Oh, come on, you said that it looks nice!" I said batting my eyelashes."Forget it, you little wicked clumsy witch." I rolled my eyes disappointed."Stupid vampire." I growled."Don't blame me. I look better wearing it." that was probably true.
"I'm curious though, how are you so sure that they won't do it again?" I questioned."You know the witches were the first supernatural beings, all the other beings are just evolved species of you. We all have a little bit of magic in us. We, the vampires, can compel people. That's what I did. We have to be extra strong to do something like that though. We need to drink blood. That's why I attacked that boy." he explained.
"What kind of magic werewolves possess?" I asked him."Isn't it obvious?" I shook my head."Shapeshifting." I gasped at the realization."You're right. Jesus, you know so many things." he chuckled."What can I say, I'm Yoda wise." I just smiled at his comment. That boy is undeniably a geek, don't let his amazing looks fool you.
"Are you alright?" he sounded worried."How do I look, Leo?" I answered laughing."Well, these guys were trying to touch you before I stopped them, it would be natural if you freaked out." he pointed out."I'm fine. I'm a tough girl." I assured him and he gave me a wicked grin.
"What you did was amazing. You're skilled." he complimented me and a smug look appeared on my face."Like I said. I'm a tough girl Leochu. I'm way more dangerous than I look." I played with my hair.
"You sure are and I want to train you." he announced."Leo, you're already training me." I told him and he rolled his eyes."Not that kind of training. I want to learn you to kick some ass without your powers." he explained and I got excited."That would be so cool!" I said and threw my hands in the air. He started chuckling."Thanks." I said and gave him a big warm smile.
After that, we went inside the club. It was nicer than the club that Sydney took us and it was way bigger. We even met that guy that owns this place, Pablo. He was a pretty cool guy actually and that surprised me. He looked really young for a club owner, he was like twenty-one when he changed. Leo informed me that he was over three hundred years old. After meeting the owner who was excited to meet the human that hangs out with Leo-apparently he was surprised because Leo doesn't do the friends thing-we went to drink something.
I took one shot after another and soon enough I got drunk. Leo, on the other hand, can't get drunk but that was cool because he could babysit me. We were dancing like we owned the place and I had the time of my life but even that couldn't take my mind completely off the guy that I shouldn't be thinking about and make matters worse at around one in the morning he texted me.
The boy you shouldn't talk to: I know that you hate me right now but I can't wait to get to school so that I can see your face.
The boy you shouldn't talk to: Listen, now that I think about it, we need to talk. Meet me at the park tomorrow at ten in the morning. I swear I won't hit on you.
I was pissed at him and drunk so instead of telling anything to Leo or replying I went and drunk two other shots and updated my Instagram story, informing the people that I was having so much fun with Leo. Later, Leo instructed that we should go home and I agreed. I could barely walk so thank god that we had parked to a spot close to the club. It was around three in the morning when we left. Leo seemed very amused by me. He didn't lose a chance to mock me"I swear that you look more high than drunk." he joked and I laughed even harder than before.
When we got to his house I immediately took off my shoes because they were killing me."We can make as much sound as we want.No one is here." he informed me and I nodded."Leo, can I take my clothes off? They are bothering me!" I whined and he rolled his eyes."Come upstairs with me." he said and motioned me to follow him but I started laughing.
"You seriously think that I can go up the stairs?" I asked him. "Damn, you're right." he uttered."Come on your highness, I'll carry you." he said approaching me."Oh no, no,no.I'm heavy." I shook my head.
"Oh shit, I'm dizzy." I broke into laughter."Karma seriously you just pulled the I'm heavy card on me? I'm a fucking vampire...Come on now." he said and picked me up from the floor. I was still laughing like a maniac. Leo carried me to his bedroom, opened his closet and gave me an oversized t-shirt."I'm pretty sure that it fits like a dress." he told me walked out of the room.
I struggled a little with undressing and dressing and a few minutes later I found him waiting with his back against the wall."Took you long enough. Come on, you should go to bed."Leo instructed and I shook my head."I'm not going to bed." I refused and pouted like a small child."Karma you're drunk." I snorted.
"Who gives a shit? Let's party Leo! Life is short! Let's do something crazy, something that I will later regret." I proposed making weird movements with my hands."What's the point of doing something and then regretting it?" he asked, looking at me like I was crazy."You should be better sorry than safe!" I shouted and he gave me a questioning look."Isn't this the other way around?" he said rubbing the back of his neck.
"I have an idea! Bite me!" he started laughing."No way, Karma." he said sternly after his laughter died down."Why?" I whined."I think you're forgetting a tiny detail, there's this guy who is around six feet, he can transform into a huge wolf and he has a thing for you. If I drink your blood and he finds out I'm dead." he said sarcastically."You're no fun, Leochu! Can we at least dance or something?" I asked and he finally gave in. I don't even know how long we were dancing.
