8. Cabin in the woods

"I can't believe that you did that to yourself."Sydney said referring to my date with Leo."I had a nice time Sydney and besides, I told you nothing happened between us and after that night and I don't think it ever will." I explained and Kendra placed a hand on my shoulder.
"What if he actually likes you?" she had a mischievous smile on her pretty face."Please, Leo just wants to take her virginity. It's his kink remember?" Neither I nor Kendra gave much attention to ."If he actually liked me when I said those things he should have told me that I was wrong. In fact, indirectly he told me that I was right." Kendra sighed."It's a pity, you looked good together."Kendra whined and I gave her a friendly smile."Honey, they would look awful together. Besides, imagine what everyone would think if she started dating my ex."Sydney spat.
"I don't think that anyone would care if he is your ex or not. Don't forget that after Natalie found out about you liking Jason she destroyed your reputation."Kendra pointed out."Don't talk to me like that.I'm still the most popular girl here and I'll take revenge for the things that Natalie said about me. She'll pay." Sydney had some serious issues.
We walked inside the cafeteria and sat at our usual table."You need to be careful today, you're wearing a white shirt don't get any food on it."Kendra warned me."I'll be careful don't worry." I said smiling. Then I saw Serena approaching us with a bright smile on her face."Hey girls." I waved at her."Hello, baby."Sydney hugged her. I don't get it how she can do that when in reality she is trying to steal her boyfriend even though I'm not a saint myself because I can't stop thinking about this boy.
"So, I wanted to ask you, are you doing anything after school?"Serena inquired smiling. She had such a nice smile."Well no..."Sydney replied while I and Kendra just nodded. ."Great, then you must all come to my house."Serena sang.
"Is Jason going to be there?"Sydney asked and Serena nodded. Sydney had another chance to hit on Jason and when waiting for the time that he would get so pissed off that he would tell Serena all about her friend" And not just Jason, Natalie, Noah and Leo will be there too." I wanted to start laughing. Natalie and Leo at the same time in the same place, I wanted to see how Sydney was going to handle that and flirt with Jason at the same time."Oh, great."Sydney sighed."See you at my place girls." Serena blew us a kiss.
Kendra had an amused look on her face and I giggled. The hours after that passed quickly and it was time for us to leave school when it started to rain heavily and unfortunately for us, no one had a car. Sydney was grounded because she scratched hers, Kendra's car broke down yesterday and I had no car in general.
"I think that we should cancel." I suggested. We were close to Serena's house but my white shirt was soaked and people could see everything that was underneath it."We're going cause Jason is going to be there."Sydney stated."Yes, but what Jason is going to think if he sees you like that?"Kendra was trying to help me and I couldn't have been more grateful."I'm hot even when I am wet. It'll just turn him on more." I didn't know if I should praise her for her confidence or slap her.
"You're not serious..."Kendra looked at her friend wide-eyed."Of course, I'm serious honey. Besides, I'm doing Karma over there a favor. She has a chance to see the guy that hasn't talked to her all day." she was referring to Leo. It was sad but true, after our date he hadn't talked to me at all. He didn't seem like he wanted me out of the picture when we talked. He more or less said he liked me as a person so why cut ties with me? I couldn't understand him.
When we finally got there I was shivering."His eyes are going to pop out of his skull when he sees me, just watch."Sydney said and I and Kendra both rolled our eyes. Serena opened the door and when she saw us her eyes widened in surprise."Come inside quickly or you are going to catch a cold." she made some room for us to come in.
When I got inside I locked eyes with Jason who was sitting on a couch next to Noah, on the couch that was on the opposite side was sitting Natalie and next to her was sitting Leo. I felt ashamed that all these eyes were on me, I mean they could probably see through my white shirt. Blood rushed through my face. Jason got up and approached me, it looked like he was shaking or maybe I was shaking."Um..." he wanted to say something but he couldn't form the words. I felt him staring at me from head to toe. My heart was beating really fast and I felt extremely nervous.
Then he did something that I wasn't expecting, he took his t-shirt off and offered it to me."Here, it looks like you need it more than me." he said sounding as uncomfortable as I felt. That little action warmed up my insides, he was a really good guy, wasn't he? "Thank you." I stuttered."Isn't he perfect?"Serena kissed his cheek."Of course, he is."Sydney smiled at him in a way she shouldn't. What if I at some point smiled to him like that without knowing it?
"Well, girls think we need to go upstairs to give you some dry clothes."Serena motioned us to follow her. She was right I had to get some other clothes, I couldn't wear her boyfriend's t-shirt forever even though I wanted too.
I heard Leo laughing while I was walking away."It's so huge that it's funny looking." he commented to his friends and I wanted to punch him. We hadn't talked all day and he said that. He was acting like a true asshole. Maybe he was just that, a handsome looking prick."Well, at least he was kind enough to offer me his t-shirt." I said and he looked at me surprised. Well, that's what happens when you ignore me.
"Let's go, ladies." we followed Serena upstairs. Before I started climbing the stairs I caught a glimpse of Jason's perfect body. I think I was worse than Sydney. Serena gave us dry clothes, when we got downstairs I was wearing a long red sleeved shirt and black leggings.
I went straight to Jason and gave him his shirt."Thanks again Moonstone." I thanked him and he nodded smiling."I don't think that we had the chance to meet."Jason's friend Noah told me. He looked older and more mature than he was."Karma that's Noah, he is the Robin to my Batman."Jason introduced him to me."Nice to meet you Karma." we shook hands with the blonde, huge guy. He looked very kind, I already liked him.
"That color looks good on you."Natalie complimented."Oh, thanks." I gave her a small smile."Well, it looks fine but everybody knows that red is my color."Sydney said and stood next to me."I think that every color looks bad on you."Natalie smirked and played with her hair."Girls, there's no need for you to start fighting."Serena commented and sat next o Jason."You heard the way that she talked to me."Sydney complained and Natalie laughed."You can't blame me, you know how I feel about arrogant bitches."Natalie spat and Leo laughed.
"I don't understand why you're hanging out with this girl."Sydney told Serena."Stop shouting already."Jason rubbed the sides of his head."What did you say to me J?"Sydney asked sounding offended."Guys calm down please."Serena begged."Don't call me J." Jason glared at Sydney.
"Only I call him J. Are you copying me?" Leo broke into hysterics with Natalie's words."What are you laughing at you disgusting pig?"Sydney said referring to Leo."Shut up, you whore." I didn't like the way she acted too but I didn't talk to her like Leo did, he was way too harsh."Sydney, calm down."Kendra instructed."Did you listen to what he said to me?"Sydney sounded more than furious.
"Karma can we talk?"Leo said seriously."I'm already bored with this drama." he whined."Talk about what?"Jason asked and Leo rolled his eyes."Mind your own business, Jason."Leo said and Jason gave him a death glare.
Leo led the way to Serena's balcony."You're mad at me." he stated."No shit, Sherlock." he chuckled."Relax, clumsy girl." I didn't like his attitude."You saw me twice today and didn't even bother to wave at me." I accused him."No, I didn't see you." he shrugged."Liar, liar pants on fire, Leochu." I said coldly. He can't fool me."Ok, ok you caught me." he approached me.
"As I said, I admire your spirit, I really do but..." he started to say but I finished his sentence."But you can't sleep with me." I folded my hands under my chest in a kind of aggressive manner."I wasn't going to say that." he defended himself."What were you going to say then?" I spat. "Look, I don't usually hang out with the girls that I used to date." I rolled my eyes."I'm not your ex-girlfriend Leo, all I'm asking is time, maybe we can work this out and eventually start dating. Besides we went only on one date." I licked my lips waiting for his answer."I don't have time." he explained.
All that time this guy made me feel so nice, I don't want to believe that this was just a facade.
"Then we can be friends. You are one of the few people in this place that were kind to me, I want to keep hanging out with you." I said almost pleading him to keep talking to me. I sounded desperate and I hated it, I just wanted someone to talk to and Leo made it so easy to talk to him."I don't do the friends thing." he rubbed the back of his neck uncomfortably."You don't do the friends thing, you don't date what do you do exactly?" I asked him."I do the family thing. My mother and my sister are the only people I am attached to. All the others can just come and go..." he looked at me straight in the eye.
"Anyway, you could have told me that night though. I was trying to talk to you the whole day, you should have told me before." I looked away, I didn't want him to see that his behavior hurt me."You're right I should have." he said and went back inside. Why did he even bother to ask me what was wrong with me if he wanted to cut ties? I don't understand this guy and I'm mad at myself for caring so much.
"It's a pretty view isn't it?"Jason said and I tensed. Then I realized that the view was actually very nice, you could see the woods clearly from where I was standing."Yeah, it's really nice." I bit my lip trying to hide how uncomfortable I was.
"Are you alright?" he asked me and we made eye contact."I'm fine." I gave him a fake smile."You don't have to lie to me. You could have said to me that you don't want to talk about it." he shrugged."How do you know I am lying?" I wondered and he chuckled."Let's just say that I am very good at spotting fake smiles." I smiled for real this time."I'll be fine. It's just one stupid boy." I said mostly to myself.
"You know the last time I went inside these woods I was attacked by wolves." he laughed at my statement."That was a good one." I rolled my eyes at his reaction."I'm serious." I told him."I've been living here all my life and I've never seen a single wolf and you're here only a few months and you got attacked by them." his expression changed, he seemed a little worried.
"Did they hurt you? Are you scared of wolves now? Do you hate them?" bombarded me with questions."No, they didn't but I bet they wanted to. They were huge and really scary but fascinating at the same time. Especially one of them, he had black fur and piercing yellow eyes. When he came close to me I forgot my fear and just looked at him like I was hypnotized, such a beautiful creature." I said and noticed that he was smiling."Why are you smiling?" I questioned and his expression changed immediately."Um, I just really like wolves too." he laughed nervously.
"I still can't believe that you saw the wolves and I have never seen one up close. I even have a cabin in these woods." he announced."Really?" that caught my attention."Yeah, my dad made it for me. He knows how much I love nature and he thought that I would like it." I listened amazed. I bet my dad would do the same for me...I just wish that he was here."That's a really nice gift. I love nature too and since I got here I can't seem to get enough of it." he gave me a sly smile.
"I have an idea." my heart skipped a bit."What kind of idea?" I asked shyly."Are you doing anything tomorrow?" I should say that I'm busy."No, I'm not doing anything." I said and played with my hair."Great, I'll show you the cabin. If you're with me I might get lucky and catch a glimpse of the wolves." he wiggled his brows.
"I can also give you a tour of the woods." he said and I felt weak in the knees."It sounds fun." I felt guilty and excited at the same time. I shouldn't feel guilty though, it's not like we're going to do anything we shouldn't. I mean, he would never make a move on me because he is dating someone and I would never make a move on him because I'm very shy. The thing is that I wish that something would happen between us and that hurts a little.

Jason
I honestly don't know how I restrained myself. I was once again forced by Serena to hang out with that stupid friend of hers, Sydney. When Sydney came here, of course, she brought Karma with her and not just that but Karma was extremely wet from the rain and the white shirt that she was wearing became one with her skin and I could see everything, her toned stomach, her bra even a small beauty mark on her hip were exposed to me. It literally took all my strength to get up and give her something to cover herself.
My torture though did not stop there because later when she wore dried clothes, that disgusting bloodsucker, Leo asked to talk to her. They fought, Karma wanted to keep in contact with him and he rejected her. I bet he was thirsty and needed to find a new toy to drink from. Thankfully, he never touched my mate. If anyone was ever going to pierce this girl's skin with his fangs that had to be me. She is mine after all. I was pleased that he was never going to get close to her again but then again I knew that she would be sad and that bothered me.
I waited until they stopped talking and then I headed towards Serena's balcony. No one noticed that I left since Sydney is still fighting with Natalie. Karma was supporting herself on the balcony railings and looked at the woods in front of her. She was stressed or at least that's what her heartbeat suggested. Her hair was almost dried and these clothes looked so nice on her.
"It's a pretty view isn't it?" she jumped a little at the sound of my voice. I guess I surprised her."Yeah, it's really nice." she started looking at her surroundings while rubbing her neck. She wasn't looking at the view, she was just thinking."Are you alright?" I asked her and made the mistake to look at these beautiful ocean blue eyes of hers. I got lost in them."I'm fine." she smiled but I knew for a fact that she was not fine" You don't have to lie to me. You could have said to me that you don't want to talk about it."I shrugged trying to play it cool.
"How do you know I am lying?" I chuckled."Let's just say that I am very good at spotting fake smiles." well that and I also heard her heartbeat changing. Even if I hadn't spotted the change in her heart's speed I heard her conversation with Leo."I'll be fine. It's just one stupid boy." I bit the inside of my cheek. I had to fight the urge to kiss her and tell her that she doesn't deserve this kind of treatment but in reality, I was worse so much worse.
"You know the last time I want inside these woods I was attacked by wolves." I couldn't help but laugh, it was kind of funny that she didn't know it was me."That was a good one." I wanted an excuse for laughing at what she said to me. She bit her lip and I swear I could feel butterflies in my belly."I'm serious." she told me and I hat to change my expression.
"I've been living here all my life and I've never seen a single wolf and you're here only a few months and you got attacked by them." II tried to sound like a human, like I wasn't one of these wolves that did not actually attack her. Then I realized something, there was a high possibility that she would be afraid of wolves after that experience.

I couldn't help but smile, she could feel me. She can't quite put a finger on it but she could feel our bond and she liked us."Why are you smiling?" she asked and I stopped smiling like an idiot because that must have looked really weird."Um, I just really like wolves too." I laughed nervously.
Then I had an idea."I still can't believe that you saw the wolves and I have never seen one up close. I even have a cabin in these woods." I was goi9ng to do something completely against my nature and my body was already starting to react, I could feel a burning sensation inside my chest."Really?" she asked surprised."Yeah, my dad made it for me. He knows how much I love nature and he thought that I would like it." I explained.
I didn't tell her the real reason he made it though, it could ruin my plan.
"That's a really nice gift. I love nature too and since I got here I can't seem to get enough of it." II hated myself for the thing that i was about to do. I smiled at her slyly like the idea just came to me."I have an idea." I could hear her heartbeat speeding up. The effect I had on her, the small changes of her heartbeat they could ruin me."What kind of idea?" she asked and her cheeks turned a bright pink color. She is the cutest thing in this world.
"Are you doing anything tomorrow?" I told her and she licked her lips thinking."No, I'm not doing anything." she played with her beautiful midnight dark hair."Great, I'll show you the cabin. If you're with me I might get lucky and catch a glimpse of the wolves." I suggested. A small part of me hoped that she would say she couldn't come. I didn't want her to fall into my trap. I kept reminding myself that I was doing this for the girl that I love and for my people."I can also give you a tour of the woods."I added."It sounds fun." I had to face the fact that I was actually going to break our bond.
I sent a text message to Noah informing him of my plan and told him to contact the coven of witches he found. The cash was already in the pack's house and I hoped that my parents wouldn't find them. Five thousand dollars and unspeakable guilt was the price that I had to pay for staying with Serena and keeping my pack safe. I didn't want to do this to her but I had to break our bond. I wish I could tell her how much she meant to me and how sorry I was for doing this to us. But I would never dare to actually do it. She wouldn't understand. I know at least that much.
