{I'm dedicating this chapter to Makaela (dyleintheden) I hope you're happy that i posted this finally xD}

Peyton's eyes fluttered open when the sunlight peaked through the curtains. She sat up slowly, looking around the room. There seemed to be no sign of Mina anywhere. Which was good for Peyton, that meant that she was finally out of her way. She rose from the shitty motel matress to find a note on the small table from Mina:

"Peyton-- Now that the job is over, rather quickly, I'm back on the road to find another job. So, please try not to find yourself in my way again and I'll find myself out of your way. Thanks for the help on the job, and just keep hunting, I guess. From, Mina."

Peyton read and reread the note, even though it doesn't have anything important written in it. She just wanted to make sure she wasn't dreaming that Mina left. Honestly, Peyton liked working with someone else, instead of by herself. Nevermind that though, Peyton got right to work, packing all her papers, clothes, computer, etc. so she could leave as soon as possible.

Everything was packed in the car before paying for the few days that she had stayed at the motel. Peyton was on the road again, cruising down the backroads, listening to the radio to see if anything suspicious was happening else where. Finally, she heard about another possible ghost sighting in New Hampshire. Only a few hour drive from where she was.

-

By noon, Peyton had made it to New Hampshire to the small town where the sighting was. As she did before, she found the nearest motel and got herself set up there. She searched to see about any suspicious deaths recently, or in the past.

After searching for a little bit she finally found a string of deaths that seemed to match what she was dealing with here. The spirit seemed to have a lot of pent up anger about men, because each time someone was killed it was a man, even though there were women in the house. The article she found that was about the first killing that happened there dated back to the 1960s.

Apparently, woman caught her husband cheating on her and the wife pulled a gun on him, but he was quicker and shot her first. So, it was pretty understandable about the anger she has towards men. Once she was composed within the motel room, all her research spread out and taped to the walls, it was already dark, so Peyton decided to go the next day to ask the woman of the house a few questions about her dead husband.

-

Once morning hit, Peyton was up at basically the crack of dawn so she could get herself ready, hopefully to have breakfast before hand. At around noon, she started to head over to Mira Smiths house. When she arrived at the house there was a familiar car parked outside the house, with a familiar face in the driver side.

"Oh shit. This is bad." Peyton said to herself, hitting her hand on the stearing wheel before getting out of the car. She knocked on the window of the car, Mina turned to face her, her face dropped when she saw Peyton.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" Mina stepped out of the car. "I told you to stay out of my way."

"How was I supposed to know you were going to be working this job?" Peyton snapped at her.

"Well, it was close enough to the last one you should've assumed I would be here." Mina shot the statement back at her.

Peyton rolled her eyes at Mina, "Whatever, how about we try to work this one together as well. See how it goes."

"I guess, that's what we can do. We might as well just get through this, since neither of us seem to want to quit and find another job.

"Alright, let's get this show on the damn road." Peyton and Mina walked up to the door, and knocked.

A young woman with a tear stained face answered the door. "H-hello. Who ar--" She stopped short when the two girls pulled out their FBI replica badges.

"Ms. Smith?" The woman nodded, "I'm Officer Baltic and this is my partner Officer Banner. We would like to ask you a few questions about the deceased. If you don't mind." Peyton slipped her ID back into her jacket.

"Uh...sure. Come on in." Mira opened the door wider for the two girls. Both of them nodded in thanks.

"Did your husband ever cheat on you?" Peyton started out with.

"N-no. I don't think so." Mira blew her nose. "D-did he cheat?"

"No, we justed wanted to be sure." Peyton and Mina took turns asking Ms. Smith questions to make sure they covered everything.

Almost an hour later the two girls finally finished with the questions and left, going back to the motel so they can go over the notes they collected.

"How about we just share a room so it's less spread out and stuff like that." Mina suggested, "Can we share your room because I really haven't done anything in my room like you've done in yours."

"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea," Peyton agreed, then unlocked the door to her room. She let Mina in first, following her after.

Mina looked around the room, "Same organization as the last job?" Peyton nodded. "So which bed is yours?"

"Um..this one, I guess." Peyton pointed to the bed on the left.

"Alright," Mina set her stuff on the bed on the right side.

Peyton sat on the gross motel sofa, she had gotten used to sofas like this. She patted the spot next to her, signaling Mina to come over to see her. Mina walked over to the sofa and reluctanly sat down, "Do you want to just watch TV and work with the notes later on?"

Peyton nodded in agreement. "That sounds like a great idea." She turned the TV, flipping through the channels to find something decent on. Eventually, she just left it on a news channel.

Before they knew it Mina had her head against Peyton's shoulder. Peyton looked down at her, smiling. She was actually starting to like this girl quite a bit more than she thought she would. And soon enough she drifted off to sleep as well.
