Chapter Three

Next morning Xiao Zhan woke up quite early but he realized he was alone in the room. The incense was still burning gently as he moved the cover of the cloth on his body and all got up and looked around the room.

It was a typical traditional room. He researched through this before.

As he saw the guqin he felt somehow have this familiar feeling.

"That's odd" Xiao Zhan thoughts he strummed a little from the guqin and he sat down at the chair and pour himself a cup of tea.

Just as he was thinking about where he was exactly the wooden door cracked open and the man named Lan Wangji came in with food.

At that moment his stomach rumble was heard in the room and he somehow blushed slightly.

"Eat" was all Lan Wangji said as he sat down across from him.

Xiao Zhan then ask "Join me?"

Lan Wangji shook his head "I have eaten " he answered briefly and Xiao Zhan just ate the food. The bun was warm and delicious. He was smiling enjoying the meal.

As he finished the food he burped and he blushed again and said "excuse me".

Lan Wangji just watch him in a peculiar gaze and it made Xiao Zhan uncomfortable.

"Why are you staring at me like that?" Xiao Zhan asks

"It is odd. You speak differently" Lan Wangji said and Xiao Zhan knew what he was talking about.

"Well I am not who you think I am. I told you my name is Xiao Zhan. I am not from here. I have no idea how I got here" Xiao Zhan answered him.

Lan Wangji then said "Then tell me where you are from"

"It is hard to explain to you. I think this must be a dream" Xiao Zhan said as he start to slap himself feeling pain the process.

"No. It is not a dream. I was wrong" Xiao Zhan added. "I am very sorry Lan Wangji I don't know how to explain to you even if I do it doesn't make any sense"

Lan Wangji then said "It is alright. Just freshen up and we can go"

"Where exactly?" Xiao Zhan asks

"Just get ready quickly" Lan Wangji said and he waited outside the room closing the door behind him and leaving Xiao Zhan confused as before.

"Seriously where the hell did I land to?" Xiao Zhan said.

As he looked around he found a pair of white cloth garment somewhat similar to what Lan Wangji was wearing and he quickly wore it and soon got out of the room.

He saw Lan Wangji standing very still and he poked the man's shoulder and the man opened his eyes and turned facing Xiao Zhan and it made the latter's heart skipped a beat and Xiao Zhan unexpectedly coughed.

"Err...I am ready" Xiao Zhan said and Lan Wangji nodded and murmured

"Let's go" Lan Wangji said as he walk swiftly. Xiao Zhan followed him quickly and soon they were at a hill and he saw white fluff everywhere and found they were bunnies.

Xiao Zhan carried one on his hands and smiled "So cute you are" he said to the bunny rabbit on his hand and he look up at Lan Wangji

"Are they yours?" He asks

"They actually belong to the sect now. Someone brought them here and they have been kept here till now" Lan Wangji answered.

"Oh I see. They are adorable. I have a pet. It is a cat" Xiao Zhan said and Lan Wangji was staring at him in a weird way

"It is like this bunny rabbit. You can take care of it" he added.

Lan Wangji was looking at Xiao Zhan and said "I see. Let us go before the sun rise up higher and it gets hotter"

And soon he started walking first making Xiao Zhan put the bunny down and placed it gently onto the ground. He ran after Lan Wangji in a hurry and soon they arrived at a hot spring.

"Oh wow. This is a hot spring" Xiao Zhan said

"Yes. This is where to some cultivators who need to heal their body after a long day. It was restricted but now it can be used by the cultivators who came to study here at Cloud Recesses" Lan Wangji explained

"Come" he added and soon left the hot spring. Xiao Zhan ran after him in a rush.

They arrived to where the rules where inscribed onto a rock and Xiao Zhan's mouth went wide.

"This are the rules of the Cloud Recesses. There were over 3000 rules all together. Nobody here can avoid the punishment if they didn't follow the rule" Lan Wangji said.

"To many rules" Xiao Zhan said and Lan Wangji just nodded

"It has been for thousand of years" Lan Wangji said and then he turn his gaze at the man who he thought was his Wei Ying but he wasn't. He was...different.

"Where did you come from Xiao Zhan? Where is my Wei Ying?" Lan Wangji thought.

His gaze was caught by Xiao Zhan and the man in front of him asks

"Why do you keep staring at me?" Xiao Zhan asks and Lan Wangji just shook his head

"It is nothing. Let us go it is almost time for our meal" Lan Wangji said and soon he walk quickly away making Xiao Zhan ran after him.
