Chapter 10: Jiro Meets Hebe Tian

[Night, Hall]

(Hebe is making her way to the library. She quietly tip toe to the library entrance and quietly opens it. She goes inside and then quietly close the door. She goes to the lights and turns them on.)

Calvin: I was wondering when you would come.

(Hebe jumps and turns around to see Calvin sitting down on a chair smiling and looking at her.)

Hebe: What are you doing here?

Calvin: This is my house.

Hebe: I meant here this late.

Calvin: And you?

(Hebe ignores him and walks to the shelves. Hebe starts looking at the books. Calvin watches her and smiles.)

(Calvin opens the door and let's Hebe in. Hebe steps into the library and is amazed. Along the walls are bookshelves that reaches to the ceiling and filled completely. There's a table with chairs around it, and some comfy chairs by the big window. Hebe goes up to the bookshelves and looks at the books. Calvin looks at Hebe smiling.)

Calvin: Like it?

Hebe: I love it. (turns to Calvin and smiles) Thank you.

(Hebe is sitting by the big window in a comfy chair reading. Selina, Calvin, and Jiro are making their way towards her. At least Jiro and Selina is. Calvin is sort of being dragged.)

(Calvin shakes his head and clears his throat. Hebe doesn't pay attention to him.)

Calvin: So, you came to read? (no answer) Why didn't you just come during the day? (still no answer) Do you like me?

Hebe: Are you crazy?

Calvin: (smiles) Maybe.

Hebe: Why are you still here? Shouldn't you be sleeping or something.

Calvin: I want to stay here with you.

(Hebe doesn't say anything, instead she picks a book and goes over to one of the comfy chairs and starts reading. Calvin watches her in awe.)

(Hebe walks outside and goes over to the parking lot. She goes to Selina's car and sits on the front of the car and waits for Selina. Hebe opens her book and reads it.)

(Calvin screams and quickly stand up. Hebe looks up at him.)

Calvin: Sorry.

(Hebe goes back to reading. Calvin turns away.)

Calvin: (thinking to himself) What's wrong with me?

[Next Day, Airport]

(Calvin and Hebe's family are at the airport to send Ella and Wuzun back.)

Mrs. Chen: (crying) You have to visit again.

Ella: (smiles) I will.

Wuzun: (smiles too) I'll bring her back in three years.

Mrs. Chen: What?!

Wuzun: I'm kidding.

(Mrs. Chen laughs and hugs Ella and then Wuzun. After that Hebe says bye to them and hugs them each good bye. Ella goes up to Calvin and sees him smiling.)
