Chapter 4: First Match! Eito Gakuen!

The next day,

Third POV:

Everyone was in the clubroom waiting for practice to start. Tenma was talking to Aoi, Shinsuke, Tsurugi, and Midori. While Shindou and Kirino are talking. Shindou was still kinda worried about what happened yesterday. Coach Kudou then called the attention of the team, everyone looked at coach and he told them that there will be a match against Eito Academy tomorrow. Tenma and Shinsuke were excited because it's their first match. Everyone then got changed and went to the field to practice. Everyone was working hard so that they could win the match. Hours passed and it was now near afternoon, everyone then changed and went home.

Tenma, of course, practiced at the riverbank and brought Sasuke with him. He practiced his dribbling and fell sometimes, but he didn't give up. Aki was worried about him so she went to the riverbank and saw him practicing, she then decided to watch him. This reached until it was night time which caused Sasuke to fall asleep.

The next day,

Tenma's friends were surprised to see his face full of scratches.

"What happened?" Aoi asked worriedly, "it's full of scratches." She added as she went close to Tenma for further inspection.

"I'm alright," Tenma replied as he gently pushed Aoi away, "Aki-nee just made a big fuss and put these on me, I'm fine."

Midori then smirked and went to Tenma which made him confused. Midori then ripped off one of the bandages. It stung for a bit.

"Yup looks fine to me," Midori said.

"Hai," Tenma replied as he recovered.

"You've been practicing at the riverbank, aren't you?" Aoi asked feeling still worried for Tenma.

"Well, I didn't want to be a burden to the upper classmen. So I had to do something about it," Tenma replied, which surprised some of the team.

"So you practiced until your face becomes like that, you are a hard worker, Tenma," Shinsuke said in an amazed tone.

A few minutes later, they went outside to go to the caravan. The first years were surprised except for Tsurugi who has his usual expression. Everyone then went into the caravan and took their seats. During the ride, Tenma, Shinsuke, Aoi, and Midori talked to each other.

"It feels like we're going to have a match now," Tenma said.

"Tenma, aren't you nervous?" Shinsuke asked.

"I am!" Tenma replied with excitement in his tone but not too loud so that he doesn't disturb the others, "my heart is pounding like crazy."

Aoi then pops up from behind the chair and responded, "isn't that more like your just excited for a chance to play soccer?"

Midori then patted Tenma's shoulder.

"It's fine to just be a little nervous," she added.

"I said I am, though!" Tenma replied.

"Now, now..." Aoi cut in.

(A few minutes later)

They arrived at the place and went to the changing rooms. They then wore their soccer uniforms and went to the bench. They were then called on to the field and they went to their positions. Everyone was doing warm-ups so that they could prepare. Tenma then looked at the stadium and was surprised. Tenma then looked at the team they are facing, it had an equal amount of humans and okamimimis.
