The last time the land had a chat with the ocean
She was outraged
She for the first time saw the ocean cry
The land said
I will not have mercy on those who have hurt you
I will shake myself till everyone falls to their knees and bows
I will break them
But the ocean refused
I do not break the hearts of those who broke me
I the ocean will tell you my story
I'm the one who once tasted sweet
And now toxic
I'm the one who used to be a home
And now I'm a house
I'm the one who was a mother
And now is a foster mother
I'm the one that once held species that swam around in glory
And now in shame hiding in my darkest holes
The fish spits everything I gave it as if it's poison and maybe it is
The turtles bleed and I try to hide the traces
The sharks no longer seek nutrition but they seek safe
I hold what holds fear for me
I hold everything that was thrown in me as if I'm the box you put things you don't need in
Plastic decorates my surface instead of the reflection of stars
Oil shines as if he's me
My waves took their belongings and left to the lakes
The land stops him
Stop my friend
Do not carry on
Mother hears your cries
I and her will curse them
For you're a fool that cannot defend himself
The ocean replied
I take that you have mistaken my sadness for crying
I still have hope in humans
Because If I cried
I would have erased them with their land
Learn to forgive, sister
Someone will take the chance given to them
They will change and enhance
We will watch and witness the change in grace.
