CHAPTER 2:

park chaeyoung's point of view.

"you know rosie, she likes food more than she likes people."

i can't help but frown at chanyeol's words about me. i'm certainly not like that! i think...

jaehwan laughed, "don't tease rosé too much, yeol hyung." says the one who is laughing too much for his own good.

i'm already glaring at the two, but they still kept on making fun of me. saying that my annoyed face is amusing that's why they like to make fun of me more.

i felt a hand in my shoulder. it was eunwoo. for all i know, he was just trying to not laugh, i appreciate the effort and all but, "go ahead, you laugh too." i told him.

and with that, he laughed with jaehwan oppa and chanyeol oppa.

they are the other members of my band. sunrise and sunsets. s&s for short. we built this band when i was in my first year highschool. it was out of impulse actually. chanyeol oppa was mindlessly sitting in the drumset when eunwoo and i arrived in the café that afternoon. eunwoo is my classmate, we are groupmates for a science project together with lisa but lisa was running a little late so eunwoo and i were left alone. being the socially awkward person i am, i didn't know what to say so we just remained silent throughout. that is not until, another one of the customers sat at the stool in the stage. he held the guitar and started strumming prettily. it was jaehwan oppa. chanyeol oppa started hitting the drums along with the sound of the guitar.

i could still remember the melody. it was beautiful.

the next thing i knew, eunwoo was in the stage too. he was playing the piano and the music became fuller as ever. but it was still missing something. the vocals.

at that moment, i didn't know if i should go there too. i was scared. a lot of people are looking and i know myself very well, i know i don't have what it takes to stand there and sing a tune out.

but then, i felt a push. someone pushed me from behind. it was a gentle push. but it was enough to send me to the stage, our table is near anyway.

everyone was looking at me. i was shaking to death, i think i'm gonna pee myself right at the spot, but fortunately, i managed. even with shaky voice and hammering heart, i sang.

at that moment, i was scared and excited.

i feel so alive.

the crowd never bothered me anyway.

after performing, the owner of the place talked to us. he didn't look like the owner of the place though, he looked like he's just around my age given his face and the vibe he's giving off. but it turns out, he really was the owner of the place. chanyeol oppa was his bestfriend too. baekhyun oppa, that's his name.

just like us, he didn't expect a whole performance to happen, it was all out of the blue, same as his invitation to us. he asked us to be the official band of the café, that turns into a youth club at night, (i only knew that at that moment) he even come up with the name sunrise and sunsets. it was pretty weird but it's amazing in a sense that it didn't make sense.

and so, we became the official band for zero café and youth club--that's the name of the place by the way. you see, baekhyun oppa could be pretty weird sometimes.

"are you guys done laughing?" i asked after a while, arms crossed.

eunwoo and jaehwan oppa nodded.

"we're good. mianhae, chae." chanyeol oppa said, removing the imaginary tear in his eyes.

"okay now, stop fooling around, guys. you're on in about two minutes." baekhyun oppa came out of nowhere and joined us in our table. he's wearing a white shirt and pants, it's not obvious in his attire that he's some businessman who owns one of the best café in the district. actually, he and chanyeol oppa pretty much looked like they're around my age, when in fact they're both 5 years older than me. life is unfair sometimes.
