CHAPTER 43:

park chaeyoung's point of view

"noona, please stop crying."

i buried my face deeper into jihoon's shoulder. i was hugging him and he was patting my back. jisung is behind me and is hugging me as well. i've been crying all morning.

but can you blame me?

i'm left behind.

it's the worst feeling of all: to lose someone you love. it's like i'm being stabbed by a thousand swords. and i can't even do anything about it than just accept the fact that everything and everyone is bound to leave me someday.

nothing in this world stays.

not even my brothers who are hugging me at the moment.

someday, they would find a girl that they would want to spend their lifetime with and that will make them go away too.

gosh, i can't stop sobbing.

why won't these stupid tears stop falling?

suddenly, my phone vibrated. i let loose of myself from my brothers' hugs and get my phone.

lili

calling...

"hello? rosie?" was her first words of the call. i only return the greeting with yet another whail. "y-yahh! what happened to you? you sound like shit."

"he left me, lis."

"mwo? who did? i'm gonna give him a beating for making you cry."

"he's already gone." i kept on sobbing.

"chaeyoung-ah, i wouldn't be able to understand you if you keep on sobbing as you speak. breathe in... breathe out... are you calmed down now?" i nodded and hummed in response, "now will you please tell me what exactly happened? with details."

"joohwangie. m-my fish. he... left me! he died! he's already gone!"

"oh dear lord, for a moment there i thought jungkook left you or something for you to cry like that." i can hear lisa sighing in the other line, "but knowing you, this is a big deal for you too. you love your fishes so much."

"what they said is true, lili, the more you love something, the more it hurts when they leave you."

"yeah, i guess that's true." lisa said, "what do you say i go there right now and bring food to cheer you up? i could bring jennie eonnie and jisoo eonnie as well. hopefully they're not that busy."

"lisa, you're the bestest friend i could ever ask for."

"rosie, you're better at me in english but i know for a fact that bestest isn't even a word." she chuckled, "and really, lucky you to have me as your bestfriend. i'm actually surprised you aren't sick at seeing my face yet. we saw eachother everyday at school and we still hang-out at weekends. but i can't blame you though. what would you do without me?"

yes, classes already started for us. luckily, everyone in our circle of friends are all placed in the same class. that's great because we are together again this year. i don't know what i would do without them.

"i cant do anything without you, lis."

"aigoo, you're such a baby. reminder, i'm younger than you, chaeng."

"it's just one month!"

"but still younger. i'm the maknae."

"sure, maknae."
