Kody left a few hours after Daniel had apologized and since mom was working late tonight, my older brother had to cook dinner. "So why does mom have to work late tonight?" Daniel asked and I shrugged.

"I have no idea, her boss called her early this morning and asked if she could cover on of the other doctor's shifts." I explained and he hummed in response as he stirred the soup that was in the pot.

It took Daniel a couple of more minutes before he had finished making dinner and got us bowls filled with the soup before we started to eat in a comfortable yet tense silence. "So tell me more about Kody." Daniel said and I looked up from my food to my older brother who was sitting across the table from me.

"W-well..." I started to say as I sat up more straighter in my seat and glanced back down at the table. "He is a pain in the ass sometimes but he is really loving, romantic, and really sweet but he can be very sarcastic and have an attitude." I explained, hearing my brother chuckle.

He nodded since he had witnessed the sarcasm and attitude earlier before he gave Kody a bloody nose and bruised lip, "Ah yes...the sarcasm and attitude I know very well." Daniel claimed, a smile coming to my face when I saw Daniel was now relaxed and somewhat okay with Kody.

A small silence fell upon us once again when he started to focus more on our food and by the time we decided that we should say something, we both had finished our food. "What do you want to do tomorrow?" I heard Daniel ask and my mind blanked, making me look at him with a confused look.

"I am talking about when we have a 'bro day' Allen."

"Oh yeah...sorry, I had a blonde moment." I said as I face palmed, feeling like a complete idiot as my brother laughed at me. "Um...well I would like to go to the mall since I have been needing some new shoes and some new clothes too. My sweaters have gotten too small." I explained and Daniel looked at me like I was crazy. "You're not going to pay for it Danny." i stated and a relieved sigh comes from him.

"Thank god." I hear him whisper as he grabs our empty bowls and takes them to the sink before washing them

I stand and push in my chair before checking if where I ate was clean and nodded when I saw it was before walking to the stairs, "I am going to get some sleep. I'll give you my 'for sure' answer tomorrow." I say and he hums in response. "Alright, sleep well." I hear Daniel call back.

I mumble something in response as I headed upstairs and soon was able to fall down onto my bed after changing into something more designed for sleep, allowing the darkness to consume me.

-----

The next morning I was not woken up by my alarm clock this time but something even worse.

Daniel.

"Hey Allen, wake up." he started to say and when I only groaned and rolled over so my back was facing him, he sighed and grabbed the blanket before pulling it away from me, dragging me onto the floor.

I landed on my back with a small yelp of surprise while my brother bent over to the side, holding his stomach as he laughed, "Daniel! What the hell!?" I yelled but this only fueled his laughter.

"Oh my...oh my god..." he said as he continued to laugh for good five minutes. "You should have seen it." He added once he wasn't laughing so hard.

With a sigh I roll my eyes as I get up from the floor and take my blanket back from Daniel and make my bed so it looks neat, "You're an asshole..." I muttered and Daniel only chuckled. "But you love me." He said before ruffling my already messed up hair.

"Hurry up and get ready, breakfast is almost ready and then we can go." He explained and I nod. "I'll be done in like...ten fifteen minutes." I answered as he walked out the door.
