Once Max got home he just sat down at one of his couches and took out his phone, sipping the coffee that Jo paid for with the little money that she had.

"What's going on on social media?" He asked himself in a whisper. Instagram and Twitter had nothing special happening, maybe some drama here and there, but that was it. He sighed and put his phone on the coffee table along with his coffee.

"Man, I'm hungry," He said as he got up. He didn't actually eat anything this morning, just got a black coffee and that was it. Jo never understood how he could drink pure, black coffee, but Max just said, 'It's as black as my soul,' or something.

Once in his kitchen he rummaged through the food in his fridge, which wasn't a lot. He found some eggs and bacon and got a pan from one of the cupboards. His eye spotted a knife. The blade shining in the light made from the sun, but Max just ignored it. Or he tried at least. He groaned and shoved the knife into one of the cupboards and continued cooking his eggs.

'Not right now,' he thought, 'I really don't want to deal with blood everywhere and it feels awful and I know that.'

You see, Max had an... issue. He liked pain. Of course, like he said, it felt awful, but just something about it made him like it.

Maybe the rush.

Maybe the beauty of the dark red blood glistening in the sun as it trickles down his arm.

He didn't know.

He hated himself for that. He wants to get out of this habit he grew. His masochistic ways had to go because he didn't want to cause anymore scars.

That's what the arm piece is for.

To hide his scars. To hide his mistakes.

He was so lost in thought that he didn't notice his eggs burning.

A little while later while Max is done eating and is staring at the wall. He starts to get up and grabs his wallet in the process. He needed to go to the store to get some groceries, seeing how his fridge and cupboards were empty.

He left the house and made his way towards his car. He was annoyed. Going out two times in the day on his day off.

He jumped in his car and turned the key. As he was driving, he turned on the radio to find something that he would like to listen to. He didn't have a particular favorite genre of music, he just listened to whatever was on. He stopped on some pop music because it sounded fine enough to listen to.

Max parked his black 2020 Audi R8 (that his parents generously bought him) in the vast parking space of Walmart. He needed a few things: some food, drinks, and some snacks.

He entered the store with a bored expression, like usual, and grabbed a cart. He needed to just get the stuff and leave, but of course it didn't end like that.

But Max didn't know that.

He past aisle after aisle, scanning the various items. He stopped once in awhile to dump something in the cart.

He was looking to the side to the items, not really paying attention to where he was going, when he bumped into someone.

Not just any someone....

"Oh! Sorry, didn't see ya there!" The girl chirped.

"Right," Max replied.

"Don't give her that tone." Damn, someone sounds mad. "You bumped into her."

"Com'on Elle, he didn't do it on purpose!"

"Yeah but-" Their voices were now whispers. Max just stood there looking at them with a pissed, annoyed, and confused expression, which I didn't know was possible.

"So.....can I leave now?"

"Oh, only if you tell us your name!" The girl said with a smirk. The one who just had an arguement with her just took out her phone again and looked at it with a bored expression.

Max sighed and answered.

"Max."

"Lucy, and here with me is Elizabeth!Hope to see ya again, Max!" Lucy replied with a childish smile while she held out her hand.

'I highly doubt that we'll see each other again,' Max thought as he took her hand and shook it. He passed the two while walking out to pay. Little did he know, those two will be a big part of his life.
