chapter four _ lovers

Jughead's POV

I woke up in a room that wasn't mine; it was white and clean. It looked more like a hospital room but I couldn't be in a hospital, I had no reason to be there. It took me a few minutes to realize that I was actually in a hospital because I was wearing a hospital gown and had a pair of IVs in both of my arms. I scanned the room again and took a sigh of relief when I saw Delphine. She was sleeping with Ronnie and that was one of the most beautiful moments I had ever seen in my life. She was like a real mother that was sleeping with her real daughter.
I was still confused, I didn't know the reason I ended up there and I couldn't remember that much. I last thing I remembered was Ronnie coming to my apartment. I pushed the emergency button because I couldn't stand that situation anymore; seconds later a nurse rushed to the room and woke everyone up.
"What's wrong mr. Jones? Are you ok?" She asked nervously
"Why am I here?"
"You had high fever. You were totally unconscious when they brought you here. I don't anything else but we'll get your blood test results today and then your doctor will tell you what's the problem. "
She left the room and Ronnie sat next to me, giving me Delphine.
"Good morning Jug. How are you?" She asked
"I guess I'm fine. Did you bring me here?"
"I did. You really scared us last night. You should have listened to me Jug "

"I'm sorry. I put you in so much trouble. By the way, thanks for taking care of Delphine. I think she likes you because she usually cries when she's with anyone except me "
"Well, I'm glad she likes me and let me tell you something Jughead, you didn't make us any trouble but, I won't let what happened last night happen again. Last night I talked to my mom and you and she said that you can live with us. There's enough room in our house for you and Delphine, so why don't you live in one of them?"

"I can't Ronnie. I'm not alone, I also have Delphine and I think you've understood how hard it is to live with a baby. "
"I just want you and Delphine to be safe. I know you're trying hard to make her a good life but she deserves more than a small room, you deserve more than that. For once in your life, see me as your friend and do what I say, for Delphine "
"Just for Delphine " I sighed.
I knew Delphine deserved more than that but I wasn't capable of making her a perfect life. So, I just decided to accept her request and evacuate because I had no choice when it came to Delphine. I held Delphine tighter like I was never going to see her again and Ronnie was just sitting there, looking at us.

"You two are adorable " she said
"It's all because of her. Believe me I'm nothing without her "
Suddenly a doctor came to the room.
"Am I interrupting you?" He asked
"No, not at all " Ronnie said

"Well mr. Jones I saw your results and it seems like it was just a flu, but you need to be more careful and of course eat more healthy food because you have minor malnutrition and that's why your body has weakened. As I said it's minor, so you don't need to be worried about it but if you don't start eating, we'll have no choice except hospitaliging "

"Thank you doc, I'll take good care of him, I promise " Ronnie said
"It seems like you have a nice girlfriend. She cares a lot about you, I saw she was up all the night for you. Ok now if you don't mind I'll leave you alone "
"Hey doc, when can I go home?" I asked
"This evening. Have a nice day "

He then left and Veronica started laughing
"What are you laughing at?" I asked
"Didn't you hear him? He thinks we're dating "
"Oh yeah that was funny. I mean I can't even imagine being the boyfriend of the richest girl in Riverdale "
"Why not? Girls would love to be your girlfriend if they knew what kind of a person you are. You are the kindest man I've ever seen in my life "
"Do you really see me like this? "
"Of course I do. I know that I don't know a lot about your past but what I've seen in you, since I saw you, is nothing except a good man; just like your father "

"You know my father?"
"I do. He helped us a lot when we were in Riverdale "
"Thanks Ronnie " I said as a tear drops fell down on my cheeks. She saw them and gave me a hug then.
"Jughead, you deserve all the happiness in this world. Don't cry honey, please "

"I didn't think people would care about me. I've been feeling alone for years and I even tried to kill myself because of it. I just can't believe there's someone like you by my side and I don't know if I deserve it or not "
I started sobbing in her arms and she held me close while rubbing my back. I didn't want to look weak in front of her but who cares? I really needed that hug more than anything. Maybe Ronnie was an angel who had came to my life just to make it less miserable and I was falling in love with her. I wiped my tears and suddenly our eyes met; there was silence between us until our lips matched. God, I was so much in love with her. Her lips tasted like chocolate and vanilla, something I had never experienced before. She looked at my eyes again.
"Jughead Jones, you are amazing ; did you know that?"
"You're amazing too. I've never felt something like this before; I think that's what people call it love, isn't it "
"I guess it is. I think I'm in love with you "
"Me too. Veronica, would you like to be my queen?"
"I would love to, my king "
And we started kissing again. After that she went to put on her makeup and wore her coat then, it was like she wanted to leave.
"What happened Ronnie? Are you leaving?" I asked
"Don't worry babe I'm just going to your apartment. I'll be back soon "
"Why are you going there?"
"Because you and Delphine won't go back there. I'm just going to pack your stuff and send them to my house. We'll go there as soon as you get discharged "
"I could do that on my own "
"I know Juggie but you should rest. It's not something I can't do and I'm not alone, Archie is going to help "
"Do you have the keys?"
"Of course I do "
"Ok ,Ronnie, can you please not tell others about us ? I mean not now?"
"I won't tell Betty and Archie but my mom has to know "
"Ok ,just your mom "
She then left the room and left me with my thoughts. I couldn't even believe it was happening. Maybe Delphine was going to have a new mom, a mom that really loved her.

Veronica's POV

I was full of beautiful feelings when I left that room. I didn't know how it happened but I was so happy after years, I was Jughead's girlfriend! I knew my cousin had really disappointed him but I swore to myself that that what happened between them, would never happen again.
I went to Jughead's apartment and Archie was also there.
"Hi Veronica, you seem really happy today. What happened?"
"Nothing. I'm happy because Jughead finally agreed to evacuate to my house. I thought it would be so hard to convince him but I used a little trick and it worked "
"What did you do? Hypnotized him ?"
"No! Remember that when it comes to Delphine, he can't say no to any of your requests. "
"Oh that was smart "
"I know. Ok let's get in, shall we?"
I opened the door just to see the messiest room in my life. I didn't know if I could find his stuff among all the trash there . Archie gave me a pair of gloves and we started cleaning then ,I mean Archie cleaned the room and I just packed the stuff. Jughead's room was small but it took us four hours to clean it. After that we sent all the suitcases to my house and went to have lunch then.
"What do you want to do now? You're going to hospital or home?" Archie asked
"I'm going to Toysrus now and I think I'll go to the hospital then. "
"Toysrus? Why are you going there?"
"Did you just forget that Delphine is going to live with us ? I'm going to make her a room, it's something she's never had "
"That's a nice idea. Since when you decided to be so kind to people?"
"Jughead is not "people" Arch ; he's our friend and my mother and I owe his family a lot. His father is the sheriff of Riverdale and he helped us a lot "
"I understand Ronnie. Ok, let's go to Toysrus, I guess you have a lot to do "
"Yeah let's go "

We went to Toysrus and I bought all the things a baby needed. After that I went to. My mom was home and was watching a TV show. She came to me as she saw me.
"You finally came home " she said
"Sorry mom I had a lot to do "
"What happened to your friend? Is he better now?"
"Yes his fine and I talked to him today about what I told you last night "
"And?"
"And he's going to live with us "
"That's really good honey "
"I know mom. Actually there's something else I should tell you "
"Go ahead "
"He's not my friend anymore. We're dating now "
"But Veronica you just saw him last week. Are you sure you really like him?"
"I am mom. Just be nice to him and let him show you what a nice guy he is. I'm sure you'll love him "
"I hope so "
"By the way I bought some stuff for his daughter. I think you know what to do with them. I'm going to the hospital now but I'll be back soon, with Jughead "
