One Shot

Today, we should live as though it is our last day on Earth,

We should fear the "I should've", rather then the "I failed",

Where at least from failure, you can learn,

To swim with the dolphins, reach beyond the stars, take one shot.

Since birth, we have purpose yet it can be unclear,

Shot down for differences, insecurities, oftentimes sincere,

Just remember; give more than you take, it's okay to make a mistake,

As long as you grind, simple raw talent will always get left behind,

You have to believe, so that others can judge whether you'll survive or not,

Take every opportunity as the only opportunity, as one shot.

Every shot we don't take, we're guaranteed to miss,

Yet every one we do, can lead to success,

Remember there's confidence, then there's arrogance, which will always cause us to fall,

Whether we're too far ahead of the race, or hardly started at all.

Take one shot, it doesn't get clearer,

The only person affected, is the one in the mirror.
