"Okay...whoever is with me, come out and show yourself." Hazel commanded, putting her hands on her hips. She went on her tippy toes to make herself look bigger. Nothing happened. "Derek?" Hazel said, looking closer throughout the bushes. "Is that you?"
There was a darker shape in the shadows, a human. Hazel hesitated, swallowing her fears. "I'm not afraid..."
"You should be." A voice said, low and scratchy. Hazel wiped the idiotic look off her face and asked, "Who are you?"
"Guess." it told her.
"Derek."
"Clever."
"Derek? It's you?"
The voice was silent for a moment. Then the bushes rumbled and the same man Hazel had known before appeared. Derek.
"I am not here to help you."
"Then why are you here?"
"Why do you want to know?"
"Because I do."
Derek but a smart allelic look on his face and stared at what Hazel had been living in.
"Haha!"
Hazel frowned, "What's so funny?"
Derek just kept laughing, ignoring what the princess had to say. "This...ha! This is what you are sleeping in?" He chuckled.
"What's wrong with it?"
"It has broken branches, dead leaves, and only one main branch to rest on!"
"Maybe that's all I need..."
"Here are some tips, don't sleep in that."
Hazel groaned and crossed her arms as she watched the man mock her. He tittered and giggled. "Okay now your just trying to make me feel bad." Hazel announced.
"Look, I came here because you taught me that...well...I need someone to love. I'm not saying I love you but I just wanted to say, thank you."
