Sandra crept up to Hazel who was sound asleep. She pulled back her bow and aimed at Hazel's lovely head. Sandra took a deep breath and hesitated, her arrow moving out of place. Derek lifted his head and yawned. He immediately rolled over to Hazel and blocked her. "No!" he screeched, a hidden snarl hiding in his throat. Sandra put her arrow down in disappointment.
"Derek?" she questioned with a sudden rage.
"What are you doing?" He yelled, pointy teeth twinkling and pushed through his gums. They blocked off the square teeth and sparked with great fury.
"Get out of the way!" Sandra half screamed, mortified at Derek's mouth.
The man/monster growled furiously and, with his hind legs, leaped on top of her. Sandra yelled in horror and fiery pain. She tried to wiggle out of Derek's grip but it just clenched on harder.
Finally, Derek loosened his paws and panted, taking large, animal-like growls. This was Sandra's chance. So, she crawled out of the cave in a hurry and scurried off. Derek closed his eyes, his snout disappearing to show his pretty nose. His eye color returned to a beautiful, emerald green and soon enough, he was back to normal.
Hazel sat up from the rock hard ground. The dim fire had died that they had made so the cave was dark.
"Derek?" she asked sleepily rubbing her eyes with her wrists.
"Yes?" Derek caught his breath and moved closer to the flare of fire still left.
"I should have killed her when I had the chance Hazel." he groaned miserably.
"What? Where's Sandra?"
Derek sighed and looked at her, his eyes looking mournful.
"It's a long story..."
