Chapter one•Arrival
his eyes danced over my skin. temptation hovering over the surface. danger, destruction and new beginnings.
Arianna's PovI've played by the rules my entire life. I did all my homework in high school, got all A's in class and never skipped.
College existed for good kids to become bad kids. I would make sure I wasn't one of them. My best friend? She was a lost cause.
"Arianna!" My best friend, Cierra, yelled as I entered our dorm. We hadn't seen each other all summer. The longest time we've ever spent apart.
Engulfing me in arms, she squeezed my body the smell of marijuana lingering on her hoodie. "I missed you so much." She mumbled into my shoulder as I pulled away.
Before I could say anything our dorm room opened. My mother and our other best friend walked in, a huge smile on Cierras face.
"Alex!" Cierra lunged towards him, almost tripping over the suitcases on the ground to give him the same embrace as I got.
I've always shipped Cierra and Alex together. They just have a great vibe around each other, and the energy when they come into a room changes the entire tone. Plus, they're both attractive.
"Hey, Ari." Alex greeted as Cierra loosely dropped her hold on him. I waved as my mom turned to me smiling.
"Well, this is it, sweetie. Your first day of college!" Her voice cracked, rolling my eyes I gave her a small hug and smiled. "Call me if you need anything. Alright?"
I nodded and she pointed to Alex and Cierra, "You two, too."
They waved goodbye as my mom left the room. Picking up my bags I laid them on my bed when Cierra turned to me with a smirk.
"What?" I asked unzipping the suitcase and taking some things out, glancing at her.
"We're going to a party tonight!"
--
I wasn't lying when I said that I was a good kid. I really am, I just have some bad influence in my life. AKA, Cierra.
After fighting with her, and Alex for over two hours I agreed on going to the party. Peer pressure is a horrible thing.
"Omg, it's Arianna's first college party!! My baby's all grown up." She whined coming towards me gripping my cheeks. I slapped her hands off playfully as she smiled. "We're gonna get fucked up."
Alex pulled up outside of our dorm twenty minutes later. The party was only about a ten-minute walk but it was kinda chilly outside so we drove. The fall temperature kicked in as soon as early September hit.
When we had finally driven up to the party I stared in pure awe. The driveway was long, tall tree's and bushes around it. Once we had reached the end where the house was I was beyond shocked. It was maybe three stories. White brick painted not a hint of any other color. Floor to ceiling windows patterned some areas of the house. It was completely dark minus a few lights shining in what looked like a bedroom, and the led lights that shined from the party.
"This is giving me asshole, rich, white guy vibes." Cierra remarked from the passenger seat. Alex shrugged turning to the car to park as we unbuckled.
The outside didn't do it any justice. The floors were hardwood plaster, the walls without the windows were pure white. I wonder how they kept them so clean.
As soon as you entered the home you could go right that led into what looked like a guest room or left which took you up the stairwell. As we walked up the steps the music beat started to pound louder as more people crowded the area. Red solo cups were scattered around along with blunts and paper.
"Yup I'm about to get lit." Cierra exclaimed taking Alex's hand and leading him to the drink table. She often ditched me at parties because she wanted me to become more 'social.'
Which unfortunately for her, it doesn't work.
However, instead of sitting around wallowing, I decided to wander and look around. It was kinda a hassle because anywhere I turned someone was bumping into me or, asking me to dance with them. Which in our generation, dancing means grinding.
Me not being popular in high school didn't mean that I wasn't 'attractive.' I got asked for dances and thankfully never had any issues with my body. I know what I can bring to the table, and I know that I'm pretty-ish looking. Which is fine with me, I never wanted to be 'popular' anyway.
I just wasn't in the mood to be danced with right now.As I walked around the house I followed the last set of stairs onto the third layer of the house. Which was just as beautiful as the other two. Most of these rooms looked like bedrooms and I wasn't going to impose on one with a closed door.
There was one room that's door was opened as I walked inside peeking around for people 'getting it on.' It's not an irrational fear, people are crazy at parties.
Once I knew the coast was clear I looked around. It was pretty calm, plain and soothing. The white fluffy carpet and the dark blue walls matched the king-sized bed that laid out. There was a corkboard up with a bunch of pictures of different people, cards, football teams and more. I couldn't make it all out, it was pretty dark in the room.
In the back of the room was a huge closet with a floor to ceiling mirror and beside it was a door that led out to a patio. The room was like something that I would dream of. Something that I would want someone to pinch me over.
The smell of pine, cherry and vanilla tingled my senses as something breathed into the air. Leaving it be I turned to face the school desk that was behind me. On it, was a random journal, drawings, pictures, and tickets were on there. Before I could read anymore a light shined into the bedroom causing me to drop the book from my hands onto the ground.
"What are you doing in my room?"
