Chapter Three• "You're A Diner Girl?"
his lips promised a wild night
Ariannas PovPounding rammed into my skull every millisecond. I didn't even need to open my eyes, and I could feel the pain from the sunlight.
This is exactly why I hate parties.
"Ugh" I heard Cierra moan, opening my eyes I peeked over to see her lying face down on her dorm bed. Hair tangled, heels on, and outfit half off.
I turned back over ignoring her, making sure no one was beside me. Cierra and I both had a habit of taking people home when we had too much alcohol. It got us into some wild situations. One time someone mentioned a foursome..
If I was being honest with you, I don't remember anything that happened last night, except meeting, handsome stranger boy. I remember looking for Cierra and Alex and after that, the night became a blur.
So I have no clue how we ended up in our dorm room.
"Remind me to never drink hard liquor EVER again." Cierra winced from her bed before standing up and then flopping right back down. She said that same sentence every time we went to a party.
A knock on our door caused her to groan and mumble again as I got up to open it. Alex sauntered in with two bottles of water, and a bag that smelled like heaven.
"Is that food?" I questioned trying to get a good look. He nodded handing me one my portion of it before handing Cierra hers.
"God bless your life." Cierra mumbled in between chews. Alex sat on my bed beside me and Cierra pulled up a chair. "Do you remember anything from last night?" She asked glancing at Alex and me.
"I do, I told you I wouldn't get super drunk last night." Alex explained taking a bite of his eggs.
"What happened?" I asked looking towards him as well.
"Well, you ran off halfway through. I had no clue where you were half the time. Until I found you with Lucas Kingston." Alex told meeting my gaze.
Cierra glanced at me weirdly. "Why were you with Lucas Kingston?"
"Because I couldn't find the two of you!" I defended and continued, "I was wandering around the house and then I was in his room, then he showed up and boom friendship made."
"Could've called us." Cierra mumbled causing me to roll my eyes. Cierra never answers her phone for anybody.
"You went into his bedroom?" Alex asked I nodded taking another bite of food. "He got to know me."
"Y'all have sex?" Cierra asked I scoffed having to fight the urge to slap her.
"No! Why would I sleep with a man I barely know! Besides he's probably a player." I shrugged Alex did the same before he answered.
"He went to Dover. He played for their football team, he has a lot of girl friends but I don't know about any girlfriends."
"I ship it." Cierra announced folding her mini box of food up before tossing it in the bag it was first in. "He's an attractive person."
"I don't. I don't know a thing about him." I responded.
She shrugged and said "Get to know him better."
That was the plan. I wondered how the rest of his night went. He wasn't drunk when we had started talking so maybe he stayed sober, but than again so was I.

"Order for number 210!"
Since I stayed remotely close to home for college, I stayed at the job that I've held since I was sixteen. The name is Bob's diner, based off of our chef who was like my grandfather.
Bobs was a very, 50 themed place. As soon as you walked in there was a bar with swirl chairs that little kids loved to play on. '50s-'70s music played lightly through the speakers and the smell of being back home warmed your senses.
Often time it was elderly people that ate here, however, we did occasionally have a couple of college kids, high school students, and families join us.
The uniform was just a plain white shirt, black skinny jeans and whatever shoes we wanted to wear, just not open-toed. As I fixed my appearance in the bathroom mirror one last time, I brushed my curled hair down my shoulders letting it fall softly.
Since I wasn't in the kitchen I didn't necessary need to wear a hairnet, I hated those things.
Walking out of the bathroom, the bell dinged indicating new people. As I hurried to the front a wave of familiarity rushed over me. Lucas, Alex, and others were waiting at the host stand.
"Arianna?" Lucas finally met my look when Alex nudged him in the arm. I smiled grabbing four menus for the guys and letting out a breath, I didn't know I was holding.
"You're a diner girl?" One of Lucas's friends questioned. Alex plucked them in the head before smiling towards me.
"Ignore him, he's had a long day." Reaching for his menu Alex led the group to a booth that he always went to when he was here. Lucas, however, stayed behind.
"I didn't think I would see you so soon. Couldn't resist my charms is that right?" I smirked chuckling as he scoffed laughing right back.
"Actually if you must know I was starving and Alex said that this was the best place to get food." Lucas placed his hands in his hoodie pocket. He looked beyond comfortable. The classic snapback with a hoodie, his brunette messy hair peeking through, grey sweats and some Nike's.
He looked like an actual model.
"But I won't lie, seeing you again is major plus." His smile widened showing off his pearly white teeth. I couldn't help but feel the warmth rushing to my cheeks.
I didn't know what to say back, usually, I can be quick on my feet when I'm snarky but he flirted with me. Should I flit back? What if he's not flirting? What if he just has a flirty personality?
What if-
"So what's the best thing to get on the menu? What's your favorite thing to eat?" Lucas asked taking a many from out stack.
As he glanced over the menu I answered, "Well I guess that depends on what you're in the mood for and what your favorite thing to eat is."
"Well, I'm hoping my favorite thing to eat will change fairly quickly." His eyes gleamed as he winked, understanding what he meant I felt butterfly's flying around my entire body. "But if you're being serious? It's steak."
"Classic man food." I laughed and showed where all of our steaks were located. "I fully recommend the sirlon, nice, juicy, tender." I shrugged and he nodded shutting it.
"And what about your favorite thing to eat here?"
"Umm, maybe the chicken alfredo. The chef makes it completely different from everybody else. Olive Garden could never!" I bragged causing him to laugh again as he nodded.
"Alright, alright. I better go, the boys might yell at me for standing here too long. But, you have my number..use it." Lucas did his signature wink before walking towards the boys as I exhaled heavily.
He was a dream. His voice did things to my body but the way his eyes smiled, the way he looked? I could drown in that man. I never believed in the whole 'love at first sight thing.' That's just a lie from fairy tales. But lust at first sight? And like at first sight? That's a different ball game.
what are your thoughts on Lucas and Arianna?
do you believe in love at first sight?
