  A/N: There is some cursing.

Deciding I was done for the night I began to head home. As I roof jumped, hopping from apartment building to apartment building my mind wondered to what Fong had said. Freaks in the streets, a bigger boss than Xever being in play. I'd heard whispers about mutants in the underground, aliens from another world but I never thought any of it could be real. At least I hadn't seen anything to make me believe it was real. But if Fong had brought it up it must be important, he was always bad at keeping important secrets.

Pausing as the street lights flickered off, I saw the city was waking up. Police cars patrolled the streets as the sun slowly rose and I felt better about resting knowing the cops had it handled. Pedestrians milled about below getting ready for their day and soon, even though it was early the streets were full. There wasn't an inch of space between the people walking about which meant there'd be no purple dragons until tonight.

Finally making it home as I jump across the last alleyway of the night I smile. Landing on my roof I let out a loud yawn and do a big stretch. It'd been a long night and I was sore from the fight and ready to rest.

It had to be sometime around 5 a.m and I just wanted some sleep before I had to wake up, clean the house, do my homework, figure out the family finances, check on my mom, and than go out and patrol again before repeating the process. Not much of a life for someone fighting crime but I didn't need one, I knew what I was good at and I had my schedule. After all what I did made me money and I it helped people.

Stretching I hum feeling the sun shine on my back as the early rays come up. Looking around to make sure no one could see me and that I wasn't followed, I was alone. Pulling my hood down and taking off my mouth guard I jump onto the fire escape below landing on my toes to not make any noise. Staring into my room only to see the lights are off, the doors closed, and the pillows I'd stuffed under my bed are still there, I nod.

Knowing my mothers still asleep and hadn't come into my room while I was out, I wiggle the window open slowly. Careful to not make any sound I slip into my room and take off my boots before getting on my bed. Placing them  on the floor I begin to strip out of my uniform. Changing into pajamas and hiding my suit where my mom wouldn't see it I flopped onto my bed exhausted.

It had been another long but exhausting night. Overwhelmed with thoughts on what was coming next I close my eyes and take a deep breath. Pushing it all away I try to fall into a deep sleep tired from my hard work.

 ~Time Skip~

Waking up to light spilling on my face from the window I groan softly. Shifting in a groggy haze I glance at my phone before burying my head back into my pillow wishing I could stay in my bed forever. I had slept in much later than I meant too and now I wasn't sure if I'd have all the time to do what I needed to before patrol tonight and I was still exhausted.

It was Sunday and I needed to prepare for the week ahead if I wanted to keep on top of crime and my school work. My teachers weren't exactly understanding of late work and didn't take too kindly too my excuses when I prioritized being a vigilante over their classes. Hopping out of bed making a mental list of everything that needed to get done I figured breakfast... well a late lunch would wake me up and get me through today. After all I had a long week ahead and I needed to start it right if I was to keep my cover as a crime fighter.

I needed to clean the house, train, and get my assignments done for the week. A full day but my mom didn't know what I was doing at night or how I was making us money. As much as I loved her, some secrets were worth keeping, and some things were better left unsaid. Changing into new clothes I hum grabbing my uniform and putting it in the washer to clean it. I'd safely stowed the money from Fong last night away and would take it to the bank to put into my account later. Folding what was in the laundry basket and putting it into piles for me and my mom, I take out the next load getting it ready for when the uniform is done.
