"There are Angels out there... I may seem to be on their side, but don't think for a second that I actually am one."

See, when you find that one person who connects you to the world, you become someone different..
Someone better..
When that pe...

I clear my throat and look down.
"Are you hungry?" His vibrant blue eyes meet my dull chocolate orbs. He stopped his current movement on the swings to nod. Unlike the parks I visited in the past, the sand mixture was now replaced with wood chips. They felt jagged and uncomfortable underneath my tennis shoes. He stands up and walks towards me. We turn around and head towards the car.
It was a car. That's all I can really say. A damn Kia. It was kid friendly to say the least, which I found ridiculous the moment I stole it, well borrowed it. It would be a tragedy if I were to die in such a disgrace of a car. My beautiful sports car wasn't about to be ruined by this tiny person. He wasn't about to put his muddy shoes on my dashboard, nor was his sticky little fingers going anywhere near my door handle.
I stand behind him as he opens the car door, watching him climb in before walking over to my side and cutting the engine on.
"What do you want to eat?" I quiz, glancing over at the tiny person. I frown deeply seeing him already looking at me with an extremely wide grin.
"A burger!" I nod at his request. I study my surroundings before taking off.

I watch the tiny person intensely as he colors on the coloring sheet the restaurant provided while we waited. This was my favorite burger place. It held a traditional stance: looking more like the 1970s. They had a bar that held no alcohol, but for seats and milkshake makers. The bar stools have silver legs with a red button looking seat.

"Have you ever kissed a boy?" The small human asks while his full attention was on his creation.
"Yes." I answer plainly. He hums as he slowly nods.
"On the lips?" I roll my eyes.
"How old are you?" He puts down his green crayon and puff his chest at me.
"I'm the man of the house." He states, clearly offended. I lean back in the booth with a barely visible smirk on my lips.
"Okay, Mr.Man. Why are askin'? You want a kiss or something?" I watch as his once proud stance becomes deflated. His face flushed as his entire face turns beet red. I raise an eyebrow in amusement.
"Interesting... Little tomato." My eyes roll towards the window to get a good view of how dark it was quickly getting.
As we step into the house, I hear Cara in the kitchen. The tiny person quickly runs to her location.
"Thank you so much Sameen!" She gushes at the first sight of me. I nod my head. She looks down at the drained boy before her and grabs the milkshake from his hands. He rubs his eyes and walks back over to me. He quickly gives me a hug, causing me to stiffen immediately at the odd display of affection.
"I'll go run his bath." I nod, highly uncomfortable even as he's pulling away. My eyes scan the room before I look down at him.
I roll my eyes and bend down to place a quick kiss on his right cheek before standing back straight up. I pat the top of his head twice and see the widest grin I've ever seen on his face. His cheeks turn red as he places his hand on the spot my lips just touched in shock. He practically bounces in the spot he stood.
"Bye, little tomato."
Azrail

"You have an interesting name, Azrail." The brown skinned beauty spoke as she plopped down on the couch next to me. I glance over at her and stiffen a smile.
"Yes.. Well." She turns her body towards me and sits Indian style.
"In fact.. I looked it up, and it means 'Angel of Death' or something along those lines." She mentioned. She always was the smart one... I just never knew she'd think of wanting to get to know me.
"I can't believe I've met the Angel Of Death." Amusement seeps through every word as she sends me a heart wrenching smirk. Her right hand touches my chest as she slightly pushes me to lay flat on my back. She unfolds her body to lay on top of me with her arms draped on each side of my collarbone. I gulp loudly as my arms find their way around her body.
I'm sure my heartbeat is pounding so loud, even she can hear.
"What are you doing Sameen?"
"I'm listening to your heart." I hold my breath in anxiousness. Her nose nuzzles my neck as she sighs in contentment.
"Even if you are Death... I'd still love you, Azrail." My mind races trying to catch up with my feelings towards her. I loved her since the day I laid eyes on her in that small room inside that small apartment building...
