My thoughts

First, I would like to say thanks. You are a great bunch of readers. Your comments have been great helpful and a pure joy to read. Some of you even ask questions if you need more information, I try and get it and answer as soon as I can. Or I just incorporate into the story.

I know, and I didn't expect so many History chapters. All those you can see ended up in Thomas' life. I thought you should have a complete story, as possible. More than what Thomas may write down in his diary. To see the hardship of these Battles plus the every day life he would of seen and read about.

I want you to learn more, than most History classes even give you. The time I research takes far longer than writing three chapters of Thomas' life. I had almost four days of current research on Stones River plus all that I've done all my life on this subject to get it as accurate as I can.

I wanted to spend time on the Armies of the West, before moving to the East. Where most people have a good idea what happened. I'll mention Gettysburg, and a few other Battles. Gettysburg probably be a History chapter, although uncle Thom was part of Pickett's Regiment or Brigade. I am not certain on that most of those chapters are done but not really complete, I have tendency to change them as Thomas grows and I  think the chapter needs a change.

I would like to thank, Johnuri62 aka Steve, for saying I should write a western or something on the Civil War, maybe a Diary. I think most of you have read his stories, if not I truly think you'll find them a great read.

Although Thomas is pure fiction, his story is written with true history including some of my Family history. The first draft Thomas and Tully were to be the two main characters or even the young slave Benny. I decided later that Betsy should be the second main character. Thinking the two guy thing had been done too many times. The love story wasn't even planned, Thomas and Betsy took over on that. Sometimes characters just take over.

I hope the history has been helpful in following the story. I haven't over bored you with it. To understand the History I believe makes Thomas and his story more compelling. Yes the following chapters get back to Thomas and his life.
Again thanks for your time. Keep the comments coming and the votes. Look forward to all of them
Tim

Afterthought, hey if you want to know something I haven't mentioned in the story. Some information on the war, or that period of time. Just message me or put it in a comment. I will be happy to look into it. Won't be going out of my way I have plenty of bookmarks to check out. Besides if I don't know it I want to find out myself.
