Where do I begin, Thomas although fictional at times he even seems real to me. I have worked hard at giving you the most accurate picture of his life or most anyone's life at that time in history. I think most of you noticed Thom has grown a lot. Some of the things he lost I hope he gains back, is wonder of the stars.

Does Thom finish out the War to it's end? Thom hasn't said, what about Uncle Thom? Well, those things will come in time. I do know the next Major battle is a defining one for Thom and his men.

I promised a little history on Ohio and it's part of the war. So I'll go into it some.

Ohio supplied the Federal Government with 260 Regiments of men not counting several companies that formed the basis of regiments in Kentucky West Virginia and Massachusetts that made up a Colored Regiment. 310,654 men including 5,092 African Americans.
Ohio exceeded the requirement  for men by population mandate by 4,332 men. In April 1861 within 48 hours of Abraham Lincoln's call for volunteers two Ohio Infantry Regiments had already departed for Washington, D.C. 11,237 men perished due to wounds another 13,354 died of disease. Forty-four of every thousand men deserted this was the lowest desertion rates in the Union. Ohio ranked third in the amount troops behind New York and Pennsylvania.

During a battle Lincoln would always ask if Ohio boys were in the fight.
Lincoln like us now sat near a telegraph getting updates on battles.
We sit in front of a screen getting information.

Lincoln "Glory to God in the highest, Ohio has saved the Union."

I found that little bit of information interesting. Like always thanks for your time, comment, and vote.
