How to Love (un-finished)

Chapter 12

A/N I am writing this on my phone because I got a sudden surge of inspiration and there is no computer so please don't hate me for the mistakes. I'm finally updating so here you go. BTW it's really hard not to type in text language.

Dani's POV

It's 6pm, Jake will be here to pick me up for the party in 2 hours. I was actually a little excited. Maddi is happy I'm getting more social, so that's a plus. Now I just have to decide what to wear.

After about 30 minutes of going through my closet, I decided on a cute blue top with lace flowers and some high-waisted shorts. I wore my hair down and two small sections twisted back. I wore some light makeup and black vans(of course.)

It was about 7:45 when I was finished getting ready, so I decided to text Jake to see when he'd be ready.

(text convo)

Dani- hey im ready

Jake- k i b out front in 5 gotta sneak out

Dani- k b careful dont get caught

I went out front to wait for Jake. When he got there he decided he would drive my car since his parents probably will notice if his car is gone.

"Hey Dani you look great "Jake said when he saw me.

I blushed slightly.

"You look hot" I replied smirking to myself.

I could see his cheeks redden slightly.

"Are you hungry?" Jake asked.

"Not really, but I can eat" I replied.

"Good because we are going get something to eat before we go to the party" Jake said.

We went to a local diner and got some food. It kind of seemed like Jake was avoiding my gaze at some points. He seemed like he was hiding something. I just shrugged it off and let it go, talking about random things.

When we got to the party, it was around 9. There were a few kids out on the front lawn with plastic cups. I could feel the pounding of the bass from the music. Jake and I walked in and Mikey greatest us with 2 cups full of, I'm guessing, beer.

"No thanks, I don't drink" I said, denying the cup being pushed in my direction. Jake exchanged "hello's" with some of the guys and took the cup. I figured he would be drinking. I guess I'm designated driver.

Suddenly, a girl that looked familiar from school came up to me. I couldn't exactly remember who she was but she didn't look happy. She had black hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a studded black bralet and short shorts. She had on a pair of black combat boots and her hair was down and wavy.

"What is this preppy bitch doing here" she practically screamed. Crawf came over to her side, I'm guessing they're dating.

"Add's, just chill, she's cool" Crawf said.

Add's? I questioned to myself. Oh, Addison. I remeber her now, of course she hates me. I used to be a bitch and I realize that now.

Jake came over to me, almost in a protective manner.

"Wait, your with her?" Addison questioned, giving Jake a weird look.

"N-no. We're not together, like that" I stuttered out.

"Look, Addison just be cool, okay. Danielle is different than what she was like" somebody else butted in. It was Bri. Like the Bri I met when I was in the mental hospital. I didn't even know she went to that school. I really am a horrible person.

"Hi Bri" I managed out. She smiled back.

"Wait, how, what?" Addison questioned, confused on how I knew Bri and why she was standing up for me.

Bri gave me a look, seemingly asking if she could say. I gave her a slight nod in response. She whispered what I'm guessing was something about the mental hospital in Addison's ear and her face completely changed. Almost as if she felt bad for me.

After that everyone got back to their normal party mood. Jake went off with the guys somewhere and Bri invited me to hang out with her and the 3 other girls in their main group, Addison, Livy, and Layla.

After explaining to Livy and Layla that I'm not the same person and apologizing for being mean to them when I was popular, they welcomed me into their group.

We mostly just sat and chatted about random things. I found out that Livy is dating Mikey and that Crawf and Addison aren't dating like I thought.

It was actually a pretty fun time. Well until somebody decided to play Never Have I Ever...

A/N So... kind of a cliffhanger. Nothing to extreme happened in this chapter. I will admit it was pretty boring, but the next chapter is going to be pretty big.
