Ba-dum. Ba-dum. Ba-dum. The sound was only audible to Night, for this was the sound of her heart beating in her ears. Not only could she hear it, but of course she could feel it too. It wasn't a pleasant feeling; it was a very painful feeling. It felt as if her stomach was twisting itself up into her lungs, somehow stabbing through them. She grabbed where her heart would be and stumbled backwards, falling onto the ground, her head unfortunately slamming into a tree which was behind her. She hissed out, using her free hand to rub the back of her head. She huffed out some air, warily glancing up to see who it was that she had encountered. A pang of familiarity pulsed in her head as her eyes studied the person.
A male with extremely pale skin, kind of like how hers was when she first woke up after being dead for a while. She had to internally laugh at that, it sounded so unbelievable and funny. After being dead for a while. That's fantastic. She shook her head, trying to perceive the rest of the person, hopefully sparking some sort of memory. It was dark under the treetops, denying moonlight passage. She could tell that this male was wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans. His shoes were completely black and he had dark colored hair that seemed very ruffled. She puffed out one of her cheeks when she noticed he was wearing some sort of black sunglasses with dark lens. "What are those for?" She curiously asks, though fully aware he might be someone she has to fight.
Even if she was feeling she knew him from somewhere, his aura was very burdening and made her feel sick. His aura felt demonic. The male noticeable furrowed his brow and clicked his tongue. "Alright, what are what for, exactly?" He queried, crossing his arms over his chest. Night shook her head, clearing her dry throat as she stood shakily. She places her arms out for balance, breathing out of her nose as she stood fully. "Those," She says as she places each index finger under her eyes, "the shades. It's seriously dark out, how do you see anything?" She felt like she shouldn't be asking and questions and should be running, but she was genuinely curious; alas, this was her fault- being curious. The male lets out an 'ah' sound and feels the side of his glasses, grinning. He takes a couple steps forward, very slowly. Night flinches and narrows her eyes.
"Well, Chainy, I see how I see. It's a pain in the ass but these are for protection." He says, crossing his arms once again. Chainy? She thinks, raising an eyebrow. "Um, do I know you?" It was just a hunch because of the familiar feeling of him, so why not ask. A puzzled look washes over his face and he frowns. It's silent for a while and Night opens her mouth to ask again, but stops when she hears the heavy blow of wind and a blur. The male is gone and she creases her brow. She blinks confused, glancing to her left. It took her off guard and she gasped and hopped to the opposite side of where she looked. The male was standing there with an amused look. "Still jumpy are we?" He muses out loud.
Night gulps and takes in a deep breath, watching the male closely. "Hm..." He hums, stepping towards Night. "Either a twin or awful memory. Doubt that you're a twin, or awful memory. Or you're a klutz and hit your head very, very hard on something." Night blinks her eyes, pressing her lips tightly together. "Um, no... Did I- Do I know you?" She asks again, backing up a bit. The male lets out a puff of air, putting his hands on his hips. "Yes and no, Chainy." He states simply, his mouth formed as a straight line. Night hated not being able to see his eyes. Eyes can tell much about what someone is thinking, and not being able to see them was aggravating her. "Clarification?" She requests, clearing her throat. The male chuckles lowly, shaking his head from side to side. "No, no. You first." He speaks in a low way that causes Night's hair to stand on end. A shiver crawls up her spine and her lips quiver as she opens them. "W-well I know this is g-going to sound strange... but, uh... You see, I died and lost my memory..." She explains as her eyes are fixed on the ground. She's waiting for him to break out laughing, but she doesn't hear it. "Makes sense." Night's jaw drops open as she looks up at the male. "Huh? What?" She says dumbly. "I said, 'Makes sense.'" He repeats himself, stretching his arms out above him. He lets out strained noises, his arms popping. He yawns and cocks his head. "So how did you come back to life? Did you make a deal with a demon?" He asked, his voice sounding interested.
