Eerie silence filled the strange throne room as Night stared into the Splendorman's onyx colored eyes. Sweat slipped down Night's cheek and saliva slid down her throat in a rather uncomfortable manner. Well I guess I saw this coming... Night internally groaned as Jeff's warning on Splendorman's nature echoed through her head. Come on, asshole, I just want this mess over with. I can't stand everyone remembering things about me that I don't. It was apparent that Splendorman had become irked with Night's choice to be mute. He let out a very loud and audible sigh and roughly slammed the end of his cane down onto the floor. If it wasn't for the rug, the sound would have definitely echoed from the hard, smooth ground. Night shot an apologetic glance up to Splendorman but it must have not meant much as he started to speak in an obvious annoyed tone. "Miss Night, I'm sure you can't possibly know but I cannot read that mind of yours right now. So it would be very much appreciated if you would exercise your tongue, young lady." A small shiver crawled up Night's spine and she guiltily gazed away to the side and furrowed her brow. What? He was reading it just fine earlier...
"My most sincere apologies, sir..." She kept her gaze on a pillar to her right. Good, because right now I think you're a crude ass face. Deceitful little... well tall, big thing... whatever, I'm pissed off at you. With a quick breath in and out, Night tilted her head back to face the Splendorman's. "It was rude of me to not acknowledge you, even though you actually never finished your thought because you could have told me what deal you had in mind..." Night's voice trailed off due to the realization of Splendorman's increasing irritation. "Miss Night..." The Splendorman's voice drawled, causing Night to instinctively back up, which didn't go unnoticed. The quiet unnerved Night further as she began to mentally prepare herself for what might happen to her in this room...
Except Night's fears were thwarted.
"You mustn't pick up that Jeffrey's nasty little qualities, dear!" Spoke the Splendorman in a much, much more pleasant tone. It had returned to the cheery, optimistic sounding voice he had from earlier when greeting everyone. "He's always had a knack for sarcasm and pushing all the wrong buttons. It's no wonder that the others don't really like him, I'm sure even his supposed friend, BEN, also has hidden feelings of disgust for him. He is rotten. And a liar. So whatever he cooed into your ear, my dear...
"I advise you don't listen to a word he says." And with all that, Night was left dumbfounded at all that Splendorman just said. That's messed up, honestly... I don't think Jeff's that bad... Splendor really hates him. Night wasn't sure what to think at this moment. She didn't remember anything about Jeff or Splendorman from her "usual" self, so who does she listen to? The Splendorman could be trying to trick Night and turn her from a comrade, but then again Jeff could just be trying to dirty Splendorman's reputation for whatever reason. Night's gaze burned into the ground as thoughts bounced around in her head. I'll... just put this in the back of my mind for now and focus on what's important. She decided. "What deal do you propose, sir?" Night moved her eyes to the Splendorman as she spoke her query. The pitch black open smile stretched wider on Splendorman's paper white face as he spun his elegant cane around.
"A seat first, if you please." He pointed the end of his cane to the throne behind Night. She twisted her body around and hesitantly stepped towards the large chair and stopped for a moment in front of it. After a quick exhale of breath, she took a seat into the throne, her body rigid with her hands on her knees and shoulders squared. The Splendorman bows, his right hand placed on his chest and his left arm out while gripping the cane. "Thank you, my lady. Now, I only believe in proper trade. Something of equal value is required when wanting an exchange. That's most understandable, yes?" The question prompts acknowledgement from Night and she nods in reply. Thus, Splendorman continues, "Now, I literally gave you your life back. You were dead and my magic was used to bring you back from the abyss. Which you probably don't remember being there... good thing." He stops speaking and his circular eyes form into that of upright boomerang looking shapes. Night's eyes widen and her brow knots in confusion. The abyss? Is that like limbo or something? She was never religious so the thought of afterlife never travelled her thoughts.
