Soon enough, I had reached the marble staircase that had intruded into the far corner of the ballroom. I checked to see if any one was looking before slipping through the door that was labelled 'Private Do Not Enter'.
Inconspicuous much.
Once again, there was a muffled buzz in my ear.
'Where are you?' A voice hissed."I'm on my way! I don't exactly know where I'm going!" I spat whilst quickening my pace down the corridor.
'Down the corridor, in about 493 feet there should be two double doors that should lead into the auction, I'm judging by the mass amount of people who have walked through there.'
"That's great and all, but I'm not a human converter. How many metres is that?" I responded.
'150 metres, trust you to pick the worse entrance point.' Evan sighed.
I kept on wandering down the corridor until I started hearing voices.
I stopped right in my tracks.
I searched for a hiding spot but I was just surrounded by bare walls."Evan, why didn't you tell me that their were people coming?" I mumbled.
'I'm looking at blueprints not an x ray!" He retorted back.
Great, now I've got to deal with this.
I smoothed out my dress and plastered on my innocent-lady face.
As soon as they came in sight of me, they all stopped dead in their tracks and whistled at me.They were all men, I would say in their late twenties, early thirties.
Okay, so let's not do the innocent-lady face.
"Well hello there sugar." One of them slurred.
I couldn't tell whether he was drunk or just really desperate.Perhaps they won't notice if I walk past them.
I reached my hand into my handbag and clasped my fingers around my gun; just in case.
I fixated my eyes ahead and attempted to push past. I felt I hand slap onto my chest, "woah, sugar. Where are you off to?"
I sucked in a breath and turned towards the vulgar man the voice came from, "where do you think?" I shrugged.
He pulled me by my dress closer to him, he smelt like sweat. "Ooh we have an auction girl here. Why don't you say that we just skip the auction?"
I couldn't blow my cover. I couldn't blow my cover. I couldn't blow my cover.
Screw it, I dug my hand deep into my bag in order to retrieve my gun but I felt the weight of it behind yanked off my shoulder.
One of the other men emptied my bag, dropping the contents all over the floor.
I watched as I saw my lip gloss, gun and badge rolled into the carpet.Sh*t.
"I was wondering what was so incredible about the bag. Boss, she's police." He growled.
The sweaty man who still had his fingers clutched around the fabric of my dress slapped me across my face, "you're a dead bit*h!"
I pulled my fist up and slammed it into his face, the man toppled backwards whilst another approached me. I back fisted his nose and sent an uppercut to his chin. I was immediately startled as I felt the burn from the slap turn into an ache as soon as I realised the dripping blood from my nose, the man took another blow to my jaw. I punched his throat as I heard him groan, I brought my leg up to kick him but I felt a hand grasp my ankle.
