I gulped still in shock with the familiar auburn haired idiot in front of me. Roughly a million things rushed around my head at that moment. What was he doing here? Does he know Asher? However, all I managed to come up with was, "long time no see eh?"

Pathetic. That was pathetic.

I don't know how I expected to him to react but it was definitely not a snort like he did.

"Oh shut up and come give your old man a hug." He laugh cried.

I didn't think twice before getting up and running into the open embrace.

I felt a tear prick in my eye as I tightened my hug around him, "I've missed you idiot."

"I've missed you too little one." He signed into my hair.
I felt my lips creep up into a cheesy smile.

The nice moment was interrupted by an incredibly confused Novah, "um, how do you know Kayden?" He eyes flashed between me and him several times clearly her not seeing any physical resemblance despite Kayden being old enough to be an uncle or father.

I chuckled, "Big old Kayden here is my Godfather, who should I mention, I haven't seen since I was 16." I elbowed him in the side.

Kay awkwardly coughed , realising he had a lot of explaining to do, he scratched his head and ruffled my hair, "yeah I need a catch up with you Tal. Good to see you Nov, but I need to head up to Ash's now. Don't want to be late." He smiled at me warmly before kissing my forehead and heading over towards the elevator.

I let out an exasperated sigh before trudging back over to my computer behind my desk.

"Wow small world then huh?" Novah chuckled as she began typing away again at her laptop, "cute nickname though, Tal. How do you get that out of Aria?"

Sh*t.

"It's a family thing, I mean Levi calls you Star which doesn't sound anything like Novah." I shrugged.

"Yeah I guess." She chuckled before turning to help some customer.

I ran a hand through my hair, I've got to tell Kay about this at some point so he doesn't blow my cover. This was the last thing I expected to happen during an undercover mission. How does Kayden know Asher? Does he work here, or worse is he part of the illegal things? Quite frankly, ignoring what the deputy thinks, putting Asher behind bars would be stupid, the man has so much power. He would just get bailed out and then he would become even more hidden and careful because he would know we were onto him.
Regardless, the necklace doesn't even belong to the prince so it wasn't technically even stealing. For all we know, the necklace could be in Australia right now.

God I'm letting the fact that my godfather is now involved cloud my judgement.

Kayden has been been my dad's bestfriend for longer than I have been alive. They worked together in the military however Kayden got injured and retired earlier. When my mum had me, my dad was still signed on for 6 more years, which my mum hated, for she would have to bring me up by herself whilst also looking after a 4 year old, my brother.
That's when Kayden stepped in, he would babysit me and take me and Logan out constantly. He would pick Logan up from kindergartens and also helped me learn prior to school.

Not to mention, he taught both me and Logan how to box.

Then at the age of 6, my dad left the military to be at home where he more or less took over his father role and basically brought me up the same as he did my brother, disregarding the fact that I was a girl completely, much to my mum's dismay.

So all in all, Kayden working here was going to be a problem.

I turned back towards my computer and carried in typing with all these queries swirling around my head. Wow, we weren't even at lunch time yet and so far this day couldn't have been more exasperating.
