I can't believe this. I actually can't believe this, and for a moment there I thought I actually liked her. I thought I actually trusted her, and that she actually trusted me.
As I'm walking home, I walk past the park where I ran into Zoe, tears slowly begin to roll down my face.
I face forward and keep walking, until there she is.
I see her, its Zoe. She looks like a mess, there are tears rolling down her cheeks and she is running. I have the urge to stop her, to tell her I'm sorry, but it's too late. She turns down a street and she is too far away.
I run as fast as I can, and follow her, I see her walk towards a house and go to it. But instead of going through the front door she climbs through her window.
Curious, I follow her but make sure I'm not seen. I climb up her window watch her, she still hasn't seen me.
She is screaming and crying. Screaming and crying. It never stops; this is hell to my ears. She becomes silent for a second and or a moment I think she sees me, but then she turns around and heads for her bathroom. I manage to go a little closer to the house and then I see her sitting on her bathroom tiles leaning against the cupboard.  She's doing something, but I can't tell what it is. I go a little closer, for a better view and then I see it. Blood, blood everywhere. She has pressing a razor against her wrist as the blood drips down. I bang on the window and scream.
"ZOE! ZOE!" I scream, but nothing. She doesn't hear anything, She continues to cut herself, the blood dripping onto the floor, onto her clothes. I bang the window more and scream.
"ZOE!" I try break the window open, but nothing. So I look around for a rock, I need to stop her form harming herself. Adrenalin rushes through me as I search for a rock, I finally find one and pick it up, ready to smash it against the window, but it's too late. I see her eyes close and her head hits the ground with a loud bang. I scream ever louder and call her name out.
"ZOE!" But nothing, no response. I scream again, worried, she has lost so much blood, I need to take her to a hospital. I chuck the stone at the window, it doesn't break. I keep chucking the stone, a crack begins to form. I pick the stone up and start hitting it against the window. Finally, the glass shatters and goes everywhere. I chuck the rock next to me and jump through the window. I run towards her and pick up the razor. I place that at the sink and grab my jacket, I rip it into two and tie one piece around on of her wrists and one piece around the other, hoping she doesn't lose any more blood. I make sure it is on tight. I carefully pick her up bridal style and try opening the door. It doesn't work so I start hitting my foot against it, until it breaks open. It finally does and I run down the hallway looking for the front of the house. As I run through I house, I take a closer look at it. I see bottles of alcohol everywhere, rubbish is spread out everywhere and it smells like piss. No wonder Zoe didn't want me to see the house, it looks completely different from her room, unlike her room being clean, and her house is a mess.
As I continue to run down the hallway, I see a lady probably aged in her mid-30. She is sleeping on the cough with a bottle of alcohol in her hand.  This must be Zoe's mother. I run past her and kick the front door until it opens. I run down the street and make my way to the hospital.
*
I have been running for what seems half an hour, I haven't stopped, Zoe is still in my arms and I reach the hospital. I run to the emergency room and start screaming out orders to the nurses.
"DOCTOR! WE NEED A DOCTOR NOW! SHE IS UNCONCIOUS AND NEEDS SERIOUS ATTENTION PLEASE, JUST GET HER A DOCTOR!" Nurses rush around everywhere. Two go and get a portable bed so they can take her to a room. Another goes and gets a doctor. I stand there helpless, trying to get my breath. The adrenalin still rushing through me. A male nurse comes towards me and grabs both my shoulders. He looks me straight in the eyes.
"I know this may be a difficult time for you, but could I just need you to answer some questions," he says. The words hardly function through, but my mouth seems to get something out.
"S-s-she, w-w-e, had a fight-t-t. And it's all my f-f-fault. I asked h-h-her why I couldn't go t-t-o her house," I stutter out.
"Son, take some deep breathes and start again," he says firmly. I take a deep breath and begin again.
"We went to lunch together, and then I asked her why I couldn't go to her house because she had been so discreet about it. She got upset, I got upset and we had an argument. We both ran out of the restaurant and went our separate ways. I was walking then I saw her, again. She was running, and crying. I went to run after her, to tell her I was sorry. But then she went to this house. Instead of going through the front door, she went to the side and climbed up to a window. I got curious and followed her but I didn't go in as I didn't want her to see me. She started crying and screaming, then she went to her bathroom and got out a razor. I didn't understand at first but then it hit me. She wanted to self-harm. I began hitting the window, calling out her name, trying to get her attention. But she couldn't hear me. She just kept attacking herself, the blood pouring out of both her wrists. So I went and looked for a rock, I finally found one and started to break the window open. But then as soon as I look up she hit her head against the floor and passed out. I eventually hit the window open and jumped inside. I rip my jacket into two and tied one around one wrist and one around the other so she wouldn't lose any more blood. I tried to open her door but it was locked so I broke it open.  I was holding her and I ran through her house, there was rubbish everywhere. I ran past a lady sleeping on the couch holding a bottle of alcohol, I think that was her mum. I ran past her, ignoring her and ran straight to the hospital." I say, tears rolling down my cheeks.
"You did a brave thing," he says.
"Do you by any chance know why her house was a mess and her mother was asleep?" he asks.
"No, that's probably why she never talked about her family or why I couldn't come over. I think she doesn't get treated right. You see her house was a mess, but her room was pretty clean." I say.
A female nurse comes towards us and whispers something in the doctors ear.
"Okay, thank you Jackie," he says and the female nurse walks off.
"You're friend. What's her name?"
"Zoe,"
"You're friend Zoe has lost a lot of blood and she did pass out. The doctors found her blood type and managed to get some more blood into her. She has a mild concussion but that should pass hopefully. Do you know if she has any other relatives?"
"No, there was only her mother, but I don't think her mother likes her very much. Her door was locked, and she went through the window when she got home. Will she be able to wake up?"
"Give her some time, once she's awake we might be able to get some answers out of her,"
"Thank you," is all I manage to say. I go take a seat and text my Uncle Scott.

TO: UNCLE SCOTT

Am at the hospital. Friend of mine is hurt, I think her mum abuses her, need to help her. File law suit against her if this info is correct.

UNCLE SCOTT:

What hospital?

TO: UNCLE SCOTT

Dandenong Hospital, I'm in the emergency room

UNCLE SCOTT:

Be there soon, don't go anywhere.

I did as I was told and stayed put. After around 15 minutes the doctor come to inform me that Zoe woke up, just as they told me, my Uncle walked through the doors holding a briefcase. He comes towards me and wraps his arms around me.
"It's gonna be okay," he whispers in my ear. He turns to the doctor. "Good afternoon, I'm Scott Quent. I'm a lawyer and I work for John and Smith Lawyers. I'm here for,-" he stops and turns to me.
"Zoe Parker." I say.
"Ah yes," the doctor says.
"Is she awake yet?" Uncle Scott asks.
"Yes, she just woke up now."
"Is it alright if Jonny and I speak to her?" he asks.
"Sure, just follow me down this hallway," the doctor says and leads us down the hallway into room 34. "She's just in here,"
Uncle Scott and I walk in the room and we see Zoe sitting up on the bed , another doctor is shining a light at her eyes speaking to her slowly.
"Do you remember your name?" he asks.
"Yes, it's Zoe Parker."
"How old are you Zoe?"
"I'm 17," she says.
"Do you know where you are?"
"In a hospital, I don't know what hospital though,"
"You are in Dandenong hospital," the doctor looks at Uncle Scott and I, then back at Zoe.
"Do you know how these two men are?"
"The boy on the right, his name is Jonny, I don't know the man on the left." She says and stares at me. "Jonny, why are you here? I thought you hated me,"
"Zoe, I would never hate you, ever. I'm so sorry," I say tears begin to swell up in my eyes.
"Zoe, your friend Jonny, brought you here. I'm his Uncle Scott, I'm a lawyer. Jonny believes that you get abused by your mother. Is this true?" Uncle Scott asks.
"Y-y-yes, it's true, but Jonny how did you know?" she asks me. Everyone turns to face me.
"When I walked out I went past the park, where we met. And then I face forward and I see you, you're running and tears were rolling down your cheeks," I take a deep breath holding in the tears. "You run towards a house, but instead of going through the front door you go to the side and begin to climb through a window, I found this weird, so I began to follow you and I hid, behind a bush, as you went up and jumped through your room, I sat up in a tree and watched you. You were screaming, crying and then you went into the bathroom and began to cut yourself," Another deep breath. "You began to self-harm yourself. I banged the window, trying to get your attention, but nothing worked. So I jumped down from the tree and looked for a rock. When I got back up I saw your eyes close and your head slammed against the tiles of the bathroom. I chucked the rock at the window and then started hitting it against it, waiting for it to break. When it broke I ran to you and tied my jumper around your wrists so you wouldn't lose any more blood. I picked you up bridal style and ran to your door, it was locked so I tried to break it open. Once it finally opened, I ran through your house and I see your mother sleeping on the couch, a bottle of alcohol in her hands, she didn't even know what was going on around her. I ignored her and ran straight to the hospital. I called up my Uncle and he came straight away, it just felt weird. You first going through the window, your door being locked, in your house there was rubbish everywhere except your room. The bottle of alcohol in your mothers hands as she slept. Something wasn't right. And I had to make sure you were okay," I say. Zoe's eyes are wide open, everyone's eyes are wide open.
"This is bad," is all she manages to say. "So bad, so very bad,"
"Why Zoe?" Uncle Scott asks.
"Because my mother hates me, and if she knows that people know that she abuses me, then she will kill me. My mother will try to kill me." She says shaking. "I can't go back there, I can't. I refuse to go back there," she says and starts screaming.
"Calm her down, I'm calling the police," is all my Uncle says, he walks out of the room and the doctor and I try to calm Zoe down.
"She's going to kill me!" she says screaming, tears rolling down her cheeks.
"Zoe, ZOE!" I yell. She stops and looks at me.
"I won't let that happen, nobody here will let that happen, she can't touch you, ever again. I'll make sure of it," I say. She looks me straight in the eyes.
"Thank you," is all she says.
