Travis and I heard the bell rang. That meant school was over. We reluctantly got up and made our way out of the back of the school. I was sure my hair was in a mess so I told Travis to go collect our bags and meet me by his car.
I stood in front of the mirror, examining my hair. It really didn't look that bad and it had actually grown on me. And since Sarah and the other cheerleaders loved it and were going to follow it tonight, it made me feel more confident.
Quickly, I pushed my way through the crowds of children and made it to Travis's car. I really wished that it was like in the movies where the girl who dates one of the jocks gets people to move out of the way automatically whenever she was passing in a crowd.
But that was a fantasy that they made girls think happened. Sarah came up to me as I stood by Travis' car waiting.
"Don't forget to bring the dyes by my house for seven." She said bubbly as always.
I nodded and she left. Travis showed up just then. "Ready to go?" He asked.
"Yep." He handed me my handbag.
I got into the car and Travis raced off. Travis and I both went to grab something to drink at the mall. I ordered a coke while Travis ordered Red Bull. We exited the mall after spendng some time talking. We talked about things like favourite colours and best birthdays we ever had and memories and stuff to make us know each other better.
The sun was already setting outside. It was about six o'clock. I told Travis to past by the hair store to buy the dyes for th girls. After showing him the directions, he pulled up in the car park. We both exited the car and entered the store.
"Help me look for some dyes." I handed Travis half of the list. He immediately set out by the hair dye section, reading each label for dyes. I smiled at the way he help me.
I began searching for some of the dyes myself. I was almost finished, I just needed to find Honey Blonde. I spotted it at the end of the isle. I walked down eager to get it when something hit me and I went tumbling down. Luckily, the hair dyes still rested in my basket but I had a terible headache now.
"I'm so sorry." I heard a familiar childish voice say. The person helped me up.
"It's nothing. Just a little headache, is all." I answered, looking into the face of the person.
"Oh. I didn't know it was you. What are you doing here?" Aaliyah asked.
I smiled, "I am getting some hair dyes for a makeover."
Aaliyah looked into my basket and her eyebrow rose, "That is one hell of a makeover."
"Yeah." I replied. "So what are you doing here?" I asked her.
"Just getting some shampoo for my Mom. I live in Pleasantville so it was no bigge." She answered.
I gasped, "Really? I live im Pleasantville too. On Aerides Drive."
Aaliyah shook her head, "I live on the other side, by the big houses."
"Oh." I said.
"Hun, I found them." I heard Travis call to me.
He walked up to me, not quite seeing who I was talking to yet.
Aaliyah stood in shock across from me, Travis doing the same as he saw who the person was.
"Aaliyah. What a coincidence meeting you here." Travis said after he recomposed himself.
"Yeah." Aaliyah asked. She had a pined expression on her face and a confused look.
