Lunch came and the usual routine started again. Travis walked me into the lunchroom, holding me close. All the girls would stare at me but not today. Most of the girls were used to it by now. Only the really stupid ones like nerds would stare and still talk about me. I usually just think that they still talk because they really don't have anything to talk about except work so when a new topic comes along, they can't stop talking about it.

Travis went to the line to order for us both. I stood by the near-by pole waiting for him to exit the cafetaria. My eyes wondered about the room. A couple of guys in the farthest corner of the room stared at me. They were a pack of geeks. They sported lose, baggy jeans that were clearly cheap and oversized t-shirts. They were all slighty over weight and sported many pimples.

I screwed up my face and looked the other way. My eyes stopped at a group of girls who sat a few tables before me. A girl with dirty blonde hair was talking urgently to two girls. I knew one of the girls she was talking to. It was Hilary, a red hair girl in my class. I recognized the other one as Tiffany, a japanese girl who was always on the honour role.

The dirty blonde still talked. From what I could hear, she was talking about a girl who was a junior dating a footballer. She was saying that the girl wasn't even all that and she felt she was on top of the world because her boyfriend is hot. I wondered who she was trashing like that.

I stared at her. She was actually kind of pretty in a way. She wore over sized clothes and a baseball hat that hide her beauty. I immediately began to think of makeovers.

I noticed the girls were staring at me. But I was day dreaming into air still thinking.

"That's her." The dirty blonde stated.

"I know that. She is in my class." Hilary said sounding annoyed.

Tiffany sighed, "I wish I was her. Travis is soo hot."

My mind came out of its haze at the sound of Travis' name.

"Why? She isn't that pretty. Travis just wants a way to get into her pants. Heard that he did the night of that big party he held." She sounded a bit jealous s she gossip.

Hilary groaned fustrated, "Look. The girl has a nice personality and she's pretty. Look at her. She's goregous. And don't study what she did at that party because you know that you want to be in her place. SO STOP BEING A BITCH!"

Hilary grabbed her bag and stormed out the room. Some people stared at the small group after the outburst that Hilary just had.

The blonde sat looking dumb struck and staring where Hilary was seated just moments before. I took a glimpse at Travis. He was now going to the front of the line. A smile played on my lips.

"What was her problem?" The blonde asked Tiffany.

"Rose..." She trailed off.

I walked up to the duo. "Look Rose. If you want to trash me, have the curtsey to do it in front of my face, not behind my back." I demanded.

"Um...Um..I.." She stammered to answer.

I smiled meanly, "Didn't think so."

"If you are a loser and can't get a man, don't trash those who can." I coldly.

Rose stood up, "Look hoe! Who..?"

She didn't get to finish, "You calling me a hoe?" I took off my hoop earring.

Rose looked alarm. I raised my hand to punch her in the face when something restricted me. I tried again. I pushed with all my strength and I managed to grab Rose's ponytail.

Something restricted me again. "What the..?" I struggled again.

"Kody, you can't fight. You'll get suspended." I heard Travis' voice from behind me.

I relaxed. Rose pulled her hair away from my grip. I shot her a cold look, "You're lucky."

I turned around to see that a small crowd had gathered. Travis got our lunches from a near by table. He handed  it to me and we walked to the table where Sloan and the others were.

Sarah walked up to me before I could sit, "I am soo sorry. We didn't mean to and we.."

I cut her off, "It's okay Sarah."

She smiled and returned to her seat.

"Do you always have to look for a fight?" Sophia said, a smile on her face.

I scoffed, "She looked for that."

Sophia was about to say something but Sarah called out to me.

"I heard that you could like do gymnastics. Is that true?" Sarah quesioned.

I smiled, "Yeah. I went to gymnastics lessons as a child with Sophia."

Sarah shot Katerina a look, "Well we need a gynast on our squad. So if you want, you could try out."

"Sorry but I don't know about cheerleading. It's not really my thing." I gave Sarah an apologetic smile.

Sarah laughed, " You already act like a cheerleader."

I frowned at that and it made Sarah laugh even harder.

Sophia rolled her eyes, "Just try it."

I sighed, "Okay. I'm in."

"Good. Tryouts are on Friday." Katerina smiled at me.

"Better hit the spring floor then." I stated. "Well I need to hit the library. Got a big project to work on."

I gave Travis a little kiss where he was sitting by Kent and Sloan and the other footballers before heading to the library. Now I would need to go practice gymnastics after school until Friday. That was just fantastic. No, not really.
