~Ch.21~

                             -ZOE'S P.O.V.-

The sudden light flashed through my closed eyelids, it was morning already? My alarm hasn't gone off yet? Surprisingly it took everything in me to finally open my eyes. I stretched looking up in the ceiling before it hit me, Jack. I looked next to me but he wasn't there, that's when I noticed the white t-shirt I had on, his shirt. I got up walking to the bathroom cleaning up and changing before heading downstairs. Did he leave?

"Zoe, you're awake?" Daniel was sitting in the living room while Jonah and Eben were standing by the window.

"Is something wrong?" I asked looking at them.

"No, you're up early" Jonah was nervous.

"What's wrong? You guys know you can't hide anything from me right?"

"It's Jack" Daniel said looking at me.

"What about him? Where is he?"

"Hey, we're back" I looked at the front door seeing Corbyn and Christina walk in.

"Okay, what are you guys not telling me here?" I looked at them confused, they wouldn't be gathered here for this damn wedding so something else is going on.

"You might want to sit down" Christina said walking to me.

"Just please tell me what's going on"

"We got a call around four in the morning, it was Demanti and Daniels dad, there was a strange attack on the old house so we went to check it out with Jack, when we got there everything seemed fine except it wasn't. There was an explosion...Jack never made it out Zoe"

"Stop, this isn't funny Eben"

"It was a rival attack, they expected Demanti but he sent us, I'm sorry"

"No, you're lying Eben, where's Jack? Tell him to come out now or else I swear I'll personally end him" I looked around but nothing.

"Zoe, we came back from there, they found remains" Corbyn looked at me with sadness.

"No! You guys are playing!! Jack was just with us last night!! We were-! No this can't be happening!!!"

"Zoe..."

I looked at the front door, it was my dad, Demanti. He walked towards me hugging me.

"Dad, it's a joke right? Jack is fine? This isn't happening right?!"

"I'm sorry baby, he didn't make it"

"No!! This doesn't make sense! Dad do something!!"

"My men are out already looking for the responsables and I promise you we'll find them and make them pay for what they did to Jack"

"No! This isn't true, this is just a Dream!"

I walked back before stopping and looking at them, they weren't lying, Jack was gone. I looked around seeing everything move. I sat on the chair before hearing voices fade away, before everything went dark around me.

                        -DANIEL'S P.O.V.-

"How is she?"

"She's sleeping now, the doctor said the shock probably got her like that" I looked back at her, she's been out for three hours already.

"What did you find?"

"Corbyn is about to inform us, come on"

I nodded as I let the house maid know before following Jonah out to the living room where everyone was.

"Corbyn, son tell us what you found out?" Demanti looked at him.

"The threat came from a burner phone who my men located 100 miles away from the old house. We ran it for finger prints but nothing, we're tracing another number but nothing yet. There was footage from the house I could restore, it showed Jonah and Eben running out before hearing the explosion, however I found this"

He turned the tv on making us turn our view towards it. It was security footage of Jack, he was looking around, but fell on the floor due to the explosion, the smoke covered the lens making it hard to see, once it cleared he was gone. No Jack.

"We looked through the rest of the footage but there was one missing, someone hacked in and erased it"

"What are you saying Corbyn?"

"There's a possibility Jack is alive and whoever did this was after him all along"

"I knew it" We all looked back seeing Zoe standing at the doorway.

"Zoe, daughter what are you doing?" Demanti rushed towards her hugging her.

"I'm okay dad" she smiled at him.

"Hate to break in but autopsy confirmed it wasn't Jack's body who we found but some random guy from the gang we hit up in New York a while back" Drew came in looking around.

"He's alive and we have to find him dad"

"However there was a ton of blood found, it was Jack's, enough blood to leave him dead Zoe"

"Until I have his body then he's not dead!"

"Zoe's right, we need to look for Jack, he's still alive and we need to find him" Eben got up walking to Demanti.

"He's one of us Demanti, we need to find him"

"Drew get the men take half of them to the old house search everywhere, get in contact with the captain of the police department I want to know everything about it, search everywhere until we find him!"

Drew nodded before walking out. Zoe looked at me giving a sad smile, she could never be happy no matter what. She loved him and he loved her, and now look at what happened between them.

                             -ZOE'S P.O.V.-

"Zoe?" I looked back seeing Daniel standing by the door.

"Hey"

"Are you coming down to eat?"

"Yeah, sorry I'll be down in a bit"

"I was wondering if we could talk about the wedding?"

"Daniel I-..."

"I talked to Demanti and my father, we agreed to protect you at any cost, no matter what happens. Which is why we decided it's best we cancel it. I love you and I will always love you but as my friend, and you're someone I don't want to loose. I'm your best friend and I'm going to be by your side looking for Jack, the one you love"

I got up hugging him as my soft sobs were heard throughout the room. He hugged me back resting his chin in my head. I couldn't loose Daniel and I knew he would always be here for me no matter what.

"Thank you Daniel"

"Hey, anything for my best friend"

"Forever?" I said looking at him.

"Forever" he said kissing my forehead.

It going to be hard with Jack not here, but we'll find him, I'll find him no matter what it takes. With Daniel and the boys by my side we'll find him, even if we have to flip the whole world over we'll find you Jack, I promise.
