pulled one of my earphones out and looked over at Riley who had been waiting patiently and said " So, what do you need to know?"
He looked around to make sure no one was listening and said " Will this school give you somewhere to stay if say your parents are not actually alive and you just faked their signatures to get into the school"
I looked at him in surprise and said " Yes i am sure the school will provide suitable living for you in your time of need, why?"
He replied " I might have come from New York but, I did not bring my parents and I do not have any where to live, I actually have been staying in a near by hotel and I seriously need a place to live right now"
I nodded and said " I am nearly in the same situation, my parents passed away a while ago and I am living alone right now..."
It felt weird telling a guy I had just met about my life even though I knew that he probably wouldn't tell anyone i was still afraid ,which lead to me asking " Hey how old are you?"
He replied " Sixteen, why?"
I said "Are you aware that you look like a nineteen year old?"
He nodded back at me once again and this gave me a thought that maybe just maybe i would be able to get the social workers off my back and share the bills and things with this guy and even though i didn't really know him and it was a big no-no to let strangers stay in your house this is my one and only chance to build up some money without having to miss a day off work to convince the social workers my mother wasn't at home and making them think that she rang me up saying she was going to be late and sending them away.
I smiled at him in a way that said I am up to something and then said " How about i offer you a room at my place, its not big but, it does have two bedrooms and i live alone also. This way the school doesn't need to know about your circumstances and hopefully you can pitch in on the bills and we can save up some money. What do you think?"
He thought about it for a moment and then replied "Why do you want me to live with you? isnt that a bit strange"
I shook my head and said back " The only reason I am doing this is to say your my cousin from overseas who is looking after me whilst my mother and father are away i don't really want you to move in no offence but, due to the circumstances i believe it is within our best interests"
I laughed inside my head at the large words I had used but, tried to wear a serious expression for the conversation.
He nodded and said "Well, seeing as you asked so nicely I think i shall take you up on the offer, the only problem now is getting a job i guess to help pitch in"
The bell rang and we each went to our own individual lessons after quickly arranging to meet in the library before lunch so that I could give him a map to my house, in case I had to leave early or we were not in the same lesson last period. Throughout the next two hours I couldn't get the thought that this would be an amazing idea and it would help me so much because I could barely
