The one bad thing about the family cabin is that it's so far out that when tensions are high the car ride can feel like the worse thing, so when Penelope confirmed that she would take the Cassavas siblings into protection while we round up the file of people but with the instructions that I would be the one to drop them off being she wanted to talk.
So four the next eight hours I drove with Bella and Enzo in the back of a car I borrowed from the base towards the cabin in silence, Bella had quickly fallen asleep using Enzo as a pillow.
Pulling up as close to the cabin as I can I open the car door for them as Enzo wakes Bella up telling her they had arrived and she walks in a daze behind me as I lead the way down the cobblestone path, the lights were already on both outside and inside. Penelope had said she would get here before me.

Opening the front door I call through that we're here and Penelope's footsteps can be heard as she rushes down the stairs towards us.
"Hi everyone, I'm Penelope and Brooklyn is around here somewhere I sent him to make the beds up while I put the food shop away. Make yourself at home hopefully there is something in the kitchen you will like if there is something you guys want we can write it on a shopping list and we'll go into town tomorrow." They both remain quiet as they go and sit on the sofa, they had been given an outfit change from the base before we left finally getting out of the bloody suit and bridesmaid dress.
Penelope nods her head telling me to follow her and we head down the hall towards the downstairs bedrooms.
"Want to tell me what's been happening?" She asks once we're inside and I sit down on the bed putting my head in my hands really needing my sister at this moment.
"Their great people, once they come out of their shell you'll find out that she's super bubbly and he will take a while longer to warm up to people especially now. They're nothing like their family and I couldn't let them go down with the rest of them and I needed someone I could trust to look out for them while we wrap this up, someone who will keep me up to date and if they do want to talk will get in contact with me. Not to mention all the questions Bella's going to have." Penelope sits down next to me wrapping her arm around me and pulling me in for a hug.
"And you're meant to be the older wiser sister." She jokes and for the first time in what feels like forever I laugh.
"I'll do my best with them, anything Bella wants to know I'll answer the best I can and I'll work on Enzo, it took a while for Brooklyn to wrap his head around it all after we left but after a month he understood that my feelings were real and now look at us babysitting two fully grown adults." This was just what I needed and right now I was wishing I could stick around longer than just a night, I was going to get some rest and head out first thing in the morning.
