Sadie pov

It was a very short but somewhat awkward ride. No one spoke. I mean, what would you say to your boyfriend's Greek sea god dad, who just saved you, told you he wouldn't have saved you if you weren't so important to his son, and also revealed that your relationship with your new and awesome boyfriend could cause tension between Greek and Egyptian gods, and moreover, who looks like he's enjoying the awkwardness he's causing between the two 'youngsters' he's sitting with?

Or, what would you say to your boyfriend, who keeps fidgeting or clearing his throat uncomfortably, feeling awkward about talking to his girlfriend in front of his dad, or his dad in front of his girlfriend, and whose face his screaming out the question-when do we get there?

Like really, what would you say?

I almost sighed in relief when Percy said, "Dude, that's our ship."

" I'm curious. How come they're still around here? I thought they would've returned." I said.

"Well, we'll find out." Percy stated.

"Is that another motor boat?" I asked, just noticing it right next to our ship. It was tied to the ship.

" Guess they were sending out search parties for us." Percy shrugged.

" Carter must've been so worried." I said, feeling guilty that I hadn't thought about how worried he'd be. I guess I was busy reveling in the fact that Percy loved me that I forgot that my brother loves me too. No matter how annoying he gets at times.

Nico pov

Carter was so worried. He kept fidgeting and pacing and fidgeting and pacing some more. Did I mention fidgeting?

It didn't help that our chaperone was bawling her eyes out. We had sent out a search party for them( I had joined to avoid suspicion) and obviously we came up empty. Twice.

What the hell was Percy doing?

At first I'd tried to remain calm. It was the ocean. Percy's domain. He should be able to handle this, is what I thought.

But now, my hopes were sinking below the waves along with the setting sun.

And then Jake yelled " Guys! I see a motorboat approaching!" I literally tripped on my feet as I ran toward him. I went up to the starboard rail where he was standing.

"It's them. I'm sure of it. With some other dude." Jake said, when I halted beside him.

" Oh thank the gods." I sighed in relief, pressing my hand against my closed eyes lightly, as if to squeeze out the sleep I had lost. Carter appeared beside me, panting.

" Gods? You say gods too?" Jake questioned.

" Oh it's just- wait. What do you mean ' too'?" I asked.

"Oh it is her!" Carter looked like he was going to collapse due to overwhelming relief. People started to gather to see if it really was Percy and Annabeth.

" Oh thank heavens! I was so worried!" Ms. Allen said.

"No kidding." Jake said, looking at her deteriorated condition. Eye bags, messed up hair….she was a complete mess.

" C'mon kids. Help them in." She said.

We helped them onto the ship, and I stifled a gasp when I realized who the third 'dude' was. I hadn't noticed earlier due to that hat and shades he was wearing.

" Are you kids okay?" Ms. Allen hugged them both.

"We're fine, Ms. Allen." Percy and Sadie chorused in an almost comical way.

Lord Poseidon looked around, his eyes stopping at me. I honestly didn't know if averting my gaze was the respectful thing to do, or would it come off as rude. So we just maintained an awkward ten second eye contact before he smiled at me.

I was rather taken aback. Why would the sea god smile at a son of Hades so…..so…warmly? Literally, it was one of the most genuine smiles I've gotten from any if the gods. Besides Hestia and a few others of course. It almost had a hint of gratitude in it.

Carter came pushing through the crowd and engulfed Sadie in what seemed to be a bone-crushing hug. The Tyson hug, as Percy likes to call it. He didn't seem to care that there was a teacher and a sea god standing right next to him. Well, he didn't know about the sea god bit.

"Carter I can't breathe." Sadie said. Or at least that's what I thought she said. Her voice was kinda muffled .

Carter slowly let her go. " I was worried." He muttered. Sadie got a very guilty look on her face, like she'd burnt Carter's encyclopedia or something.

Percy walked over to me. Before either one of us could say something, or do something in my case, Ms. Allen spoke up.

"Well, sir. If you'd be kind enough to tell me who you are and how you found my students?" She asked Poseidon.

"Oh no." Percy muttered as he hides his face in his hands.

"What?" I asked.

"We forgot to plan out a story." He'd looked at his dad and teacher through from between his fingers.
