Chapter 46: The battle of Giza

The Sphinx Giza, Egypt (1 day later)

We had arrived in Giza, by taking a plane. The airport staff allowed Filip, Bogdan, their men,, and Viktor to take their gear on board with (after FIlip and Bogdan did some "persuading", and Viktor trying to negotiate peacefully), we went straight for the Sphinx and met up with Rachel. She came up to us and said "After you left Percy, a voice inside my head told me that they created a fake prophecy to lure you on a false path. I think he said his name was Seten, or Tense or something like that."

Sadie asked her "Do you mean Setne?"

"YES! That's the name!" Rachel exclaimed. I asked "Setne? Who is that?"

Sadie told me " Setne is a 5,000 year old magician who's actual name is prince Khaemwaset. He's also the grandson of Seti I and Ramesses the great. He wrote the book of overcoming Apophis, stole the Book of Toth, blasphemed against the gods some 4,092 times, spread 300 years worth of chaos in Egypt, started the French Revolution and the first world war. Essentially the human and Egyptian version of Satan."

I looked at Sadie like she was crazy. Just then somebody came and led us inside the Sphinx where a war council was being held. The members of the war council were all of the head cabin counselors, the leaders of every part of the house of life, the gods (Greek, and Egyptian), Sadie, Filip, Bogdan, Viktor, a guy wearing a blue suit and fedora who had a Saxophone beside him, Chiron ,and me. We started the meeting by addressing all of the possible locations that Apophis, Gaea, Kronos, and Setne could attack. Chiron started the meeting off by by saying " The gods, chief lector Amos Kane, and I would like to thank both he demigods and magicians s for joining forces so that we could win this war. Even though we didn't have a choice. Now what are the most strategical places that the enemy can destroy?"

Filip said "If I was in the enemy's place, I would attack our resource and supply lines to starve us out. Then I would slowly begin to seize control of any places that could offer major support. However, there is a more logical plan." Piper asked Filip "What's that?" Filip replied" You attack the enemy's command headquarters directly." Just then we all heard an explosion come from outside.

Everyone realized that we were being attacked, and ran to put up defenses. Before Sadie could get out, I grabbed her arm and yelled "Sadie, Wait!"

"What is it Percy?" Sadie asked me. I told her "In case we don't survive this war, I wanted to ask you something." She asked me "Which is?"

I got down on one knee and said "Sadie Kane, in case we don't survive, would you give me the honor of being my wife until death, and even after that?" Sadie started to cry tears of joy. She told me "Yes. Of course I will Percy. But you do realize that we were only dating fro a couple of months right?" I said "Who cares? I love you, and no one can take that away from me." Sadie smiled. She kissed me, and ran off into battle.

I went to join Filip and his men. Filip was going to lead a direct offensive, while Bogdan carried out a counter-attack, trapping the enemy in a blitzkrieg. When I arrived at Filip's position, and he was ordering his men to entrench themselves. 'Great. A repeat of the First World War.' I thought.

Time skip after the battle

We had won the very first battle in a new war, but at a price. We lost 200,000 men to the enemies 40,000. I had my men entrench themselves, and lead a defensive battle. After all, sometimes the best offense is defense. When I got the casualty list from Captain Stefan Markovic, I sent a message some of my old friends from Rome. Bogdan suffered 150,000 losses on his counterattack.
