The shadow

That Same Night

"Hey, sweetie, are you sure it wasn't just a dream?" her mother asked while laughing nervously.

"Yes! yes I am positive! I know it, remember the legend, well I saw how the family was killed! I know what happened, please! please tell me you believe me!" Serena cried.

"Ok, well how did the family die?" her father asked.

She told them what she saw, from the beginning to the end. Her parents looked worried, but Serena couldn't tell if they believed her.

"Please! please! please believe me!"

"Okay, well I trust you, and I don't know what to believe, we should tell someone, and maybe they'll help us. okay?". Her father said.

Serena nodded her head, and she was happy for a moment but then she saw that shadow! It was floating behind her parents, she froze! She began to speak very slowly,

"DO. NOT. TURN. AROUND!"

She was terrified, she couldn't move, her parents looked as if they knew what was there. The three of them sat there frozen, then they heard crying, and then a scream! But no one else was there! It was just Serena, her mother, and her father! The sound grew louder and louder, it was so strong, it could have burst their eardrums. The shadow began to become clearer, it had no face, it was just darkness swirling with a mixture of smoke, but it was nothing. It began to move to Serena. She started screaming, the shadow was trying to possess her body! She screamed and screamed! But the shadow couldn't hold, it disappeared! All of them looked at each other, they began to gather things into a bag, and ran out the house, and into the car. Her mother brought a laptop to google people who could help, her father just drove until they were far away from the house, and Serena couldn't do anything, she was terrified from what just happened. Her mother found a site saying, that this person deals with ghosts, paranormal activity, and just about anything that seemed out of the normal. The scientist was Dr. Danton, Serena's mother dialed the scientist's number and it began ringing. he answered the phone, her mother explained everything that was going in, the scientist told her to come to his home for further information and conversation. They drove, and came across Dr. Danton's home, they ran to the house and knocked on the door, he opened the door, invited Serena and her parents in and began to question them. Serena told him everything, the doctor just sat and listened,

"Well is seems to me that you are indeed correct about what is going on, but in order for me to help you, I would have to see these things actually happen. Would it be possible for me to stay for at least 2 weeks in your home? I will then be able to come up with a solution to your problems."

"Yes, yes, anything to stop this nonsense, going on in that house! thank you!" Serena exclaimed.

"Is it possible that we can spend the night?" Serena's mother inquired.

"Why, of course, if what your daughter says is true, your house is haunted! It would make perfect sense for you to stay here until I am able to go to your home and address the issue!"

"Thank you! Thank you so much!" her father said.

Dr. Danton showed them to their rooms, and they all went inside, they sat down and fell asleep. Serena didn't have any nightmares, her and her parents didn't hear anything! That is until they woke up to an extremely loud scream!
