Giyuu // Why'd it end like this

I ran towards the water pillar's estate clutching a little bag of sweets like i always did. i heard he was going on a mission that day and i wanted to wish him luck before he left.

As i reached his estate i saw lady shinobu leaving.

"Hello lady shinobu is giyu still here?" i ran up to her holding the sweets close to my chest.

"yes. why? do you want to give him that bag of sweets? how cute." she rolled her eye's and walked away. she was always rude and cold to me and only me. i never really understood why though.

i ran up to the front door and knocked. after a little a sleepy tomioka opened the door, he rubbed his eyes and stared at me for awhile before he recognised who i was.

"hey y/n what are you doing here this early? i though you'd arrive at midday like you always do." he glanced down at the sweets i was holding and his eyes lit up like a little kid.

"o-oh well i thought i'd come early and spend some time with you before you leave, because i heard you mission was going to be stressful and you might be gone for awhile." i held the had that was holding the sweets out to him and he eagerly took them. " i also wanted to give you these," i giggled and walked inside.

we sat down in the lounge room and were just talking about things that had happened the past couple days.

"oh yeah, i saw lady shinobu leaving the estate before i got here. did something happen?" i looked at him and his eyes turned cold they were filled with pain, as if he remembered something he had to do but didn't want to.

"yeah. why do you care?"

"i care because you've been keeping something from me for months now. and i know its got to do with her so i'm asking."

"why do you always have to but into my business. if i tell you something doesn't matter and not to worry then do that ok? this has absolutely nothing to do with you so just stay out of it."

"why have you both been so cold to me lately?"

He slammed his hands on the coffee table we were sitting at and stood up. his eyebrows furrowed and he glared at me.

"STAY OUT OF IT! AS I SAID IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS AND THEN MAYBE YOU CAN FIND SOME PEOPLE THAT ACTUALLY LIKE YOU TO ANNOY! JUST LEAVE ME ALONE FOR FUCKS SAKE. HONESTLY AT THIS POINT I WOULDN'T CARE IF YOU WERE EATEN ALIVE BY DEMONS!"

i jumped back at his outburst. my eyes started to tear up as i stared at him. his face changed into a look of shock and sadness as he realised what he said. i stood up and started leaving.

"y-y/n wait i didn't-"

"save it, good luck on your mission." I walked out of his house and then proceeded to run back to my estate.

why would he say those things? he never once showed any sign of not liking me so why did he have the sudden outburst? its not like i should care anyway its obvious he hates me.

i reached my estate and locked myself in my room for the next day. the only reason i left is because i was sent to backup a mission an upper moon had interfered with. 

(im sorry but there wont be a fight scene i honestly don't have the energy to write one right now)

as soon as i arrived to the fight i was attacked. i tried defending myself against the demon but i was instantly overwhelmed. the demon had created a huge gash on my back and proceeded to throw me into the dirt.

i blacked out.

as soon as i opened my eye's i saw giyu crying. he was holding my body close to his chest. i placed a hand on his cheek and wiped away the tears.

"g-giyu?" i stared up at him. my eyes were feeling heavy but i made sure to keep them open while i spoke to him.

"y/n please don't go i'm sorry i didn't mean anything i said earlier i'm serious. shinobu threatened to hurt you if i didn't stop talking to you. i'm so sorry y/n please forgi-"

i gently placed my lips against his to stop him from talking.

"giyu its fine, i just wish you told me normally so we could do something about it. i know its a bit late now but giyu i love ... y.. ou." my eyes closed and everything faded to black. my body went limp and just before i completely faded away i heard giyu's voice.

"y-y/n i love you too." he sounded broken. and it hurt me that the last thing i ever saw and heard was giyu crying for me to wake up.

i'm sorry i feel like this ones a little short and kinda crappy. i don't think i've ever once written a dying scene from the reader or mc's perspective so this was new to me
