Chapter 22
"Dae, can you hear me? Woohoo!" I heard someone yell into my ear.
"Urgh," I said and rolled onto my stomach covering my ears. I took in a deep breath but it turn into a cough. I rubbed my throat while remembering what just happened. I sat up flinging my eyes open just to bump my forehead into something. "Ow!" I cried.
I opened my eyes again to Alexia June looking at me carefully. "You burnt me you know?" She showed me her wrists and they were, in fact, red fingerprints burnt into her white skin.
I rubbed my throat with one hand and rubbed my forehead with the other. "Well you were killing me!" I accused back.
"Because you freaking jumped on me!"
"Because I was trying to stop you from leaving!" I got shakily to my feet and put my hand on the green wall to steady me.
"Because?"
"Because I know you're other names, and are we seriously playing the because game?" I shook my head to clear my vision.
Alexia looked at me with those big brown eyes. She started pacing nervously. "He is so going to be mad at me! He might even banish me making me a fallen angel! I am in so much trouble!" she said as she worriedly bit away at her nails. Her grey-feathered wings twitched nervously. I stared at her while she went on her mini rampage.
"Who are you talking about?" I asked clueless. She stopped dead in her tracks and looked at me with a mixture of shock and horror.
"Who do you think? The big G-O-D for heaven sakes! He'll banish me from Heaven causing me to be a frigging Fallen Angel! I don't want to be a Fallen Angel!" Alex cried. "They have such a bad reputation! Then again, I'm no better since I almost killed the Savior AND the One Who Chooses!" That's a new name! I wonder what it means!
"The One Who Chooses, what's the story behind that?" I asked curiously. I moved onto the bed and sat on the blue and green plaid comforter.
"Oh... uhhh... GOT TO GO!" she said. She snapped her fingers and Jacklynn barged in.
"What the crap was that?" she asked breathlessly. I shook my head t to clear it.
"Um, the door knob got stuck?" I said guiltily. Jacklynn looked at me with those knowing green eyes.
"Sure," she said and huffed. "Now where did I put my coat?" she asked while walking around the room. Huh, maybe we need to clean the room up a bit. "Ah-hah!" she said as she picked up a white furry coat. She picked up my green and pink plaid wool coat and tossed it to me. I tried to catch it but it slipped from my fingers and landed on the white rug. "Clumsy much?" she asked at the same time I said, "Whoops!" We ended up laughing as we walked down the stairs.
"So, what do you want to talk to us about?" Jacklynn asked as we made our way down to the lobby.
"Something about, err, my elements," I said as I pushed open the oak door.
Jacklynn looked surprised, "Is there something wrong?"
"Err, not that type of wrong but wrong to me. You already know part of it," I hinted. I looked up as she pushed her red bangs from her eyes. She looked perplex and then her face soften.
