Sequence 19: Finishing Unsettled Business

No one's POV

Y/n was standing on one side of the circle in Beacon's combat class. In one hand was a sword as the other was empty. He looks sternly at the person on the other side of the arena. On the other side of the arena was Cardin with his mace in hand. He rests it on his shoulder, giving y/n a shit-eating grin on his face.

"It's not too late to back down, ya know?" Cardin mocks.

"..." Y/n doesn't answer. He simply stares at Cardin with anger in his eyes.

On the sideline, all of y/n's siblings, Aaron, and a few other students were watching as they sat in their seats. Weiss was by Olivia as she watches y/n carefully.

"Hmp. Fine." Cardin lets out a quick laugh. "Don't blame me if you end up with a few broken bones."

"..." Y/n still doesn't reply. He simply lifts his sword up and gets into his fighting position.

Ezio appears next to Aaron, his eyes glued on y/n.

Cardin also got into position as the two wait for the match to begin. The entire audience was silent in anticipation as they wait. As y/n waits for the match to begin his mind began to drift off to a few minutes ago.

About a half hour ago y/n was standing in front of Cardin and his teammates in the dorm's hallway. Y/n glares at them as he clenched his hands tightly.

"What do you want, Cardin?" He asks demandingly.

Cardin grins before launching. "I heard rumors about a certain pile of trash still being alive. I wanted to see for myself if they were true."

"..." Y/n grips his fists tighter. "Was that all you wanted to do? Are you done waisting my time?"

Cardin steps forward, causing y/n to step back with caution. Cardin took another step forward and y/n took another step back. Cardin smirks as he lets out a breath.

"It seems that this piece of trash still knows who's in charge, even after being gone for several months." Cardin's teammates laugh mockingly.

Y/n's eyebrow twitches. He grits his teeth before hesitantly stepping forward, causing the four to stop laughing and stare at him with confusion.

"Oh?" Cardin's attitude still hasn't changed as he saw y/n continue to step forward. "What's this?" You dare approach me? Instead of running away like before?"

"I'm done putting up with you bastards." Y/n says quickly. "It's time I took care of you once and for all."

Cardin scoffs. "Then please! I would like to see you try to do something for once!"

Cardin's team was about to jump y/n, but Cardin raises his arm to stop them. They hesitantly obey him as Cardin folds his arms. As y/n grew closer towards Cardin, he slowly went from walking, sprinting, then to a full on run. He pulls his right hand back to get ready to punch Cardin. Just as he was about a foot away, a single gunshot was heard coming from behind y/n. A bullet grazes Cardin's cheek, causing blood to drip from the scar. Everyone's eyes widen before they stopped what they were doing and turned to find the source.
