It was bad enough that Sonic unintentionally wiped out power across the Eastern seaboard. But now there were soldiers and drones patrolling every part of the forest while diligently searching for the blue hedgehog. Sonic peered out from behind a log as several drones flew by, ducking his head to avoid detection.

"This is fine! It's fine! It's not like you got upset and had blue lightning shooting out of your butt." Sonic mulled to himself.

"I gotta get back to the cave..."

Once the coast was clear, the blue hedgehog immediately sped towards his home without anyone noticing. As soon as he was safe, Sonic grabbed a slightly worn-out backpack and began to gather all of his necessities for the inevitable trek ahead. If there was one thing he knew, it was the fact that Sonic wasn't safe here anymore.

"Okay, I got my toothbrush.... my comic books...... Where're my headsets? Got 'em. Could I fit my bean bags in the backpack? No, that's stupid. Okay, I think I'm all set."

Sonic walked towards the entrance of the cave before looking back on his soon-to-be former home with a dejected look on his face.

"Goodbye, cave...."

Sonic wasn't the only one having an off day. It had been apparent that thanks to the energy surge that had knocked out half of the planet's power, America's government had to get involved. Even if Soleanna was its monarchy, that didn't mean that they wouldn't allow the U.S.  to come in and figure out what the problem was. They quickly tracked where the energy source had come from- and had located it in the baseball field where studies were being conducted, and the military stood on guard. The U.S. had sent "a lab rat with teeth" as they had liked to put it, to scavenge the area and to get a good idea of what they were dealing with. The Kingdom of Water allowed this, so long as they wouldn't disturb the peace of their community or try to do something unspeakable, that would most likely end in a pretty brittle argument. They agreed and had kept their word on it. Shenzi was left all alone in the castle with her civic duties, meaning she got to relax for the Sunday. While the Royal Guard was dealing with people who were freaking out and "running around like a chicken with their head cut off," the snow leopard had been peacefully drawing in the living room with the television and turned on to soothe the white noise in the room. Elise had left not too long ago for a business trip and would be back at night once she was done. The cat didn't mind it- but she did feel bad that for a Princess such as her aunt, had to run around the country and the globe and divide and conquer with her wise sight. The leopard was wearing grey sweatpants that were comfortably loose, with a pale yellow t-shirt with a mountain right on her chest and with a logo that said, "Saint Helena." It was a country just west of Soleanna that connected to other sites worldwide. The kingdom was known for its rapidly advanced technology, so people from whenever it could come from wherever to visit. Shenzi was drawing out a realistic photo of a lion standing on the berth of a rock looking as regal and majestic as over on the couch. He'd be colored later with some Coptic markers and paints, but for now, he was being sketched, detailed, and shaded before the final stage of departure. Her mind had gone somewhere else, as she had left the quill right in front of her on the coffee table with a small case of flowers in the middle. It was hidden quite well, but not enough since it still flowed and sparked those blue fringes and tints. She was humming a tune mindlessly under her breath, not wearing her belt, tape, cape, or Katakana on her back. However, what she didn't expect next was a surprisingly loud thump that had resonated through the castle, and the snow leopard's pencil moved, before it stopped stroking, and was plucked off the paper. Shenzi's ears reared on her head, listening, and as she did, there was another series of thumps. A sad sigh left her mouth as she shook her head and then moved her sketchbook and pencil aside, hopping off of her comfort zone as she stood up and stretched her arms above her head. Her body shook to stretch the muscles that had been in one position for so long, her tail poofing up, before smoothing itself out. She yawned a lion's maw, before she trudged her way into the kitchen, and grabbed her staff that had been cleaned and sharpened for swift attacks.

"Darn raccoons," she muttered. "I'll just scare them out of here, then maybe they'll never come back." Although, if it wasn't, she had to be prepared. They had a vast raccoon problem in the castle, and it had gotten better ever since new systems had been installed and let out a tiny shock to any small animal that got near. Today? They'd see to it they wouldn't be coming back. Shenzi moved out of the kitchen and the living room to the back of the castle.
