Inside of a large high-tech grey and black truck, Robotnik sat in a large military-grade chair as he swiped away on a holographic touch-screen monitor that floated right in front of his face. He was diligently working around the clock as he looked into the source of the power surge that plagued the Eastern seaboard. It was then, after taking some samples and running some tests, the scientist had found what he was looking for.

"Agent Stone, we found our quarry. Let's go." Robotnik said.

"Yes, doctor." A voice responded to their leader, a fairly light-hazel man with a full black suit, who was apparently Robotnik's supervisor, said.

~Gee, way to go hot shot! You completely ruined the moment by smacking someone who is EXACTLY like you - now that you know it - and knocking him out. High five, firecracker! Knock that one off the bucket list!~

Shenzi couldn't just leave him like this. She needed to do something and quickly. She plucked her Katakana and tossed it out in the hallway. She didn't have anything to stick it in. The snow leopard then inched forward to the hedgehog and scooped him up in her arms. Luckily, he wasn't too heavy for her. He was incredibly soft, though, surprisingly. Shenzi adjusted her hold as she carried him out of the garage and into the living room where she set his body gently on the couch and propped his head with a pillow. She then went to the kitchen and grabbed a wet cloth and dampening it before rushing back and placing it on his forehead. She moved quickly to do this. The snow leopard was hesitant on whether to use her Chi or not to heal him, and her hands radiated a golden aura as flecks of sparkles rose, but she paused. She couldn't have him knowing her secret, as it was the only reason it made her talk in the first place. It was then that she carefully reached forward, on her knees by his head as she tilted his chin back and forth while her claws were sheathed.

Strange.

"Could it be..?" She asked herself, suddenly looking around for an object before she locked eyes onto the coffee table and grabbed the blue quill she needed that she found yesterday at the field. She brought it forward to him and his fur color. And the pieces fell into place.

"The Blue Devil." She whispered, nodding her fluffy head to herself, amazement and astonishment crawling her features before she set the quill aside again.

~So, this hedgehog had been the one to dig the trenches in the baseball field. But how? And why?~

Shenzi knew he'd probably wake up with a lump on his head, and a possible headache, and she cringed at herself for trying to knock him out. She should've at least gotten a dart gun, that would've been better. But NO! She just HAD to do THAT! A sigh left her nose as she pushed herself off her knees and waltzed to the kitchen. Her tail curled above the ground. The snow leopard had already set up a kettle and some water, placing some sweet mint and sugar in it to boil. She set some cups aside and would bide her time until the pot blew. She peered over at the couch again, and a groan left her as she ran a paw over her nose and pinched the bridge of it with her ears lying back in annoyance and pity.

"I'm such an idiot. Why did I have to do that?" She muttered. It was then that Sonic finally came to, rubbing his head as he wobbly stood up.

"Ugh, my head..." Sonic groaned. He turned his gaze to Shenzi, blinking his eyes a couple of times.

"Cat Lady...?" He asked. Shenzi's round ears swiveled on her head and poised behind her to the sound of someone shifting. By then, the kettle was beginning to steam and lightly whistle. Good thing she turned it up on high so she'd get the brewing done faster. The snow leopard turned off the stove with a flick of her wrist, and then was pouring the warm substance into two cups. She did it with exact precision, and once both were even within capacity, she set the pot aside on the stove. At the sound of the hedgehog's voice, she whipped around and saw him attempting to stand up on the couch. She shifted her body to lean against the counter, still hesitant to approach him. She didn't know what to do quite yet, but she was, for the matter, more worried that he was going to topple over and pass out again. He looked to be in pain from the lump she had given him. Shenzi debated quickly on what she should do, arguing caution over screwing it before she went for the latter. So, ignoring her intention to stay at a reasonable distance and possibly get herself killed, she speed-walked up to him and gently steadied him by grabbing his hand firmly. Her nose finally got a whiff of his scent, and he smelled like pines and a bonfire. Any reasonable person would have run for the freaking hills, but Shenzi wasn't healthy either. The creature in front of her was an animal like her, so she had to treat him with some form of respect. Especially since it blew her mind that technology wasn't the sole reason for his existence.
