Chapter 26♡

(Ashleigh's P.O.V)

Seeing Kelly's hand on my chest, I just tried to relax. I heard Riley.. trying not to disturb Kelly, I made my way to my son's bedroom. "Morning Mommy." Hugging him, I heard my phone buzz. It was Mom.

Morning sweetie. How are you?x

Holding Riley, he just looked at me.. replying to Mom's text, I saw a call come through. It was Jay. Answering it, I took a deep breath. "Hi Jay. Yeah, I'm good thanks. Is my sister ok?" Hearing him say yes, he asked if it was ok if he could spend time with his nephew. 'of course it is. i'll just get dressed.' Saying that I wouldn't be long, he suggested coming over at about 2pm. 'That's perfect.' After ending the call, I took Riley into the bathroom as I looked at  the text from Will. 

I'd like to talk. Please Ash. I need to explain. xx

Focusing on sorting Riley out, he just kept talking to me. 'Mommy? Where's daddy?' Continuing to wash him, I just tried my hardest not to cry.. our little boy now knew that his daddy wasn't around. Once I had sorted him out, I rang Mom. 'Hey sweetie. Was last night good?' Smiling at the thought of Kelly's hand on my chest, I said that I enjoyed myself. 'He left early as Riley was sleeping. 'Kelly is very nice. He's just attentive.' Mom joked that I was in love. 'Mommy!!' Riley ran into the living room. 'Yes munchkin?' Putting mom on loudspeaker, he said that his uncle Jay was outside. Going to answer it, Jay picked Riley up. 'Heyyyy mate! WOW! You've grown.' Saying hi, Riley passed the phone back. 'Sorry mom. Yeah, I just wanna spend time with him. Tell Evan that i'll text him later.' Talking to Jay, he was busy playing with my boy. 'Your brother texted.' Jay just said that he seemed very sorrowful. 'He even goes to work questioning if he should come to talk to you. 'I saw him with someone else the other day.' Sitting beside Riley, I told him that he'd just texted me. 'He wants to talk. Ria seems very happy by the way." Confiding in me, he mentioned that they had gotten more closer lately. 'She's really opened up since being with you.' Riley looked at me.. giggling. 'This little monkey. He's the reason why I would like to try and co- parent with Will.. but the incident keeps replaying in my head.' 

Trying to breathe, Jay could see that I was confused. "I'm thinking of taking Ria away for a romantic weekend. Where would you suggest going? Where does she love going?" Getting all excited, I suggested plenty of places. As Riley cuddled his uncle, I told him about our trip to Rome. "We went on a girls trip and the sights are incredible. So beautiful."  I asked him if he wanted to propose to my sister one day. "Mom loves you. Like, you're so nice to her." Jay blushed a bit. "I do love your sister. We honestly have spent like had the most incredible 6 months together.  Gasping, I nearly squealed. "Are you thinking of proposing sooner rather then later?" Jay raised his eyebrows..

"You'll have to find out." Later on in the afternoon, he kissed Riley goodbye. 'I'll see you soon champ.' Saying bye, the text from Will played on my mind.. The thing is, he's the father of our child.. but he hurt me. Maybe he wasn't sorry.. maybe he wanted to see how I was. Calling him, I felt the nerves bubble up inside of my stomach.. 'Hello? Ashleigh?' Hearing his soft voice.. I wanted to just cry.. 'Hey.' He then went on to ask how I was doing.. he asked about Riley. 'I decided to not see you for a few weeks because of what you did Will. You kept me locked in a room.. with our little boy in his pram.'

He just went on to say how sorry he was. 'I've been having anger management sessions. I know it doesn't change a thing. I feel awful. I want to be a dad to Riley.' Letting him in again was going to be hard. I had built a routine with Riley. 'I do still love you. I know that. Let's just meet tomorrow. I'm gonna be at work until 1pm, so maybe we could meet near the hospital?' He agreed to that. 'Thanks Ash.'

Ending the call, I took Riley upstairs. Giving him kisses as I turned on his bedroom light. 'We'll be seeing Daddy tomorrow. Did you enjoy see Uncle Jay tonight?' Nodding his head enthusiastically, I just told him how much I loved him. 'I love you too Mommy.' Placing him in his cot, I just went to my bedroom. Had I made the right choice?
