Chapter 49♡

(Ashleigh's P.O.V.)

Today was wedding planning day. We had a bit of a lie in which was lovely. Riley came into our bedroom at about 10am. "Morning buddy." Will squeezed him as I woke up. "Pancakes for breakfast Mommy?" His eyes went all cute. "Of course baby." Will played with him as I put my dressing gown on. "Last night was so nice." My boyfriend went to sit with our boy in the kitchen as I sorted out breakfast. It would be so nice to sit with him today to talk about the biggest day of our lives. One of the biggest days. Ria had texted me.. telling me that she's all ready for her trip away to Rome. I was so happy for her and Jay. Little Bea was totally adorable as well. I couldn't believe how quick she had grown.

Flipping the pancakes, Will teased me as Riley giggled. "Mommy! Flip!!" He sat waiting paitently as I laughed along with Will. "I've got my shift at about 7pm tonight babe. Are you OK with that?" Bringing over the pancakes, I cut up my boy's. "Yes. That's fine." Sitting down next to him, I discussed the colour scheme. "I would love lilac with black.. that sounds amazing. Just seeing all you guys suited and booted will make me happy." Smiling at me, Riley got chocolate sauce all over his mouth. "You mucky pup hey!" Cleaning him up, I went to go up to the bathroom with him. "See you in a bit Daddy." Showering him, thoughts about last night flooded through my mind. I had to tell the girls. What if I was pregnant again? I was scared about my mental illness coming back.. I had been fine recently due to appointments.. but what if I pushed Will away? My mind loved playing tricks on me. Sorting Riley out, I asked him what he would like to do with Mom today. "I would like to watch movies and bake. Gran loves to bake."

Calling Mom, she answered. Sounding happy. "Hi honey. Are you working from home today?" Saying yes, I spoke to her about last night. "We had fun. We are wedding planning today. Don't worry, I'll organise some girlie days. Bea is away with Jay this weekend." Mom then asked if Bea had hinted at an engagement. 'Maybe.. Are you busy today?' Saying no, I asked her if she could babysit. 'Of course I can. Did you want me to come and collect him?' Telling her yes, she said that she would ring Will's mom to see if she wanted to help. 'It would be lovely for her as well.' Agreeing, she said to hi to Riley. 'See you soon Mom.' Dressing Riley, my phone buzzed. It was Jay. Calling Will, he walked into Riley's bedroom. 'Daddy. Both my grandmas are coming over tonight.' Will went to get his backpack ready. 'Are they?' I tried not to laugh. 'Your mom will spoil him. Anyway, we'll have to shop around later once I've done my work for the day.'

Once I had finished dressing Riley, he went to play as I went to tidy his bedroom. 'Our moms will love spending time with the kids tonight.' Once I had sorted his backpack out, I left it on the stairs. 'I always miss you when I'm at work. The guys always tease me about it.' Kissing him, he took his backpack downstairs. Mom then rang me. Telling me that she was here. Popping downstairs, she hugged me. 'You go and do some work. I'll look after him." Hearing him giggle as they went to have fun, I went into the office. Setting up the laptop, I rang Jen. "Hey. Yes, I'm ok. How is it with you know who?" Giggling, I looked at some more counselling appointment forms. I had quite a few telephone conversations to have today.

Starting with Mr Pickering, I just let him vent.

(Will's P.O.V)

"Please calm down Mrs Taylor. We'll have to put you on a physch hold for 72 hours if you don't calm down." Mrs Taylor had been in the ED for quite some time. She had a mental illness. Dr Charles had to be notified of this. Maggie then came in the room. "Her husband is coming in.. how about you go and check on some other patients? I've got this." Smiling, she quickly asked me how my anger management sessions were going. "They have been going well thanks. See you in a bit." Going upstairs, I got a text from Mom.

I've just popped up to your apartment honey. I'll see you later. Have a fab day. Love you. X

My mom was sweet. Getting to Dr Charles, I asked him if he could do a consult. "Of course. How's Ashleigh doing?" Thinking about her behaviour the other night.. I said to him that she may need to see him again.. "Get her to book an appointment." Running back down to the ED, I saw that my patient was being prepped to go up to the ward. "Thankyou Dr Halstead." Saying it was ok, I took out my phone. Replying to Mom's text. "I've just got to check on some documents. I'll be back soon." Finding her files, it said that she had bipolar. She was on anti- physcotics. This had to be why she was so manic. Typing up a prescription, I gave it to Dr Charles. 'Thankyou."

Hearing my name, I saw Ethan with Noah in the break room. "Hey you two.' Saying hey back, we spoke a bit about sport. 'Football is better then baseball." Personally, I loved baseball a lot more.😂 'How was your paitent?" I said that she seemed ok. "She's going to get help.. so that's a good sign." Asking about him and April, he mentioned that having a baby wasn't as simple for them. "April has to have hormone treatment.. it's difficult for her, but I'm reassuring her." Telling him that it will happen for them, he asked me how I felt when I found out that Ashleigh was pregnant. "Well when we met, she was my patient. Her situation was complicated. She was frightened of giving birth, her ex was a nightmare. I just knew that she needed me.

Ethan then thanked me. "That's ok." Getting my stuff ready to go home, Ashleigh rang me. "Yes honey. I've just finished. Ahhh. My mom is so sweet. I've missed my boy. Yes, we can talk about that when I get back. Ash.."

Excusing myself, I made my way home. Ashleigh sounded upset. Defensive.

On the way back, all I could think about was my girl's mental state of mind.
