AN: Arabella's cloak to the side with her muff
"Uncle Simon," A girl with long silky brown hair calls into the dark house pulling open the tall thick double mahogany door. "Uncle Simon? Noah? Lace?" Her long white faux fur cape and her long hair dusted with snow. "Farley!" She calls; maybe her dog would provide an answer for her. She suddenly hears claws scrambling across the oak floors. A black German shepherd bounds up to her with a huge grin and an excited bark. "Hey Bud," she greets fawning over her beloved dog for a while after shedding her coat. "Where's Uncle Simon, Buddy?" She asks him. Hanging her coat in the armoire by the door.
He barks before padding deeper into the house. She casts a look at the light snow and locks the door before following Farley into the house. He sits by his food bowl and she sees a note in her Cousin Noah's messy cursive. She reaches into the pantry for Farley's food and reads the note.
"Arabella: Father is with some of his clients. And if your reading this note. I haven't gotten back from my friends house. Sorry I wasn't there to let you in. Or welcome you back to our place. Man I feel like a terrible cousin. Lacy is on her school field trip. She won't be home till late tomorrow. Also, father released the staff for the weekend, so the house will be quiet, or should be upon arrival. If I'm not back by 1700. I've left 15 dollars for dinner beneath the cookie jar. I'll see you when I get home. Sorry once again for not being there to welcome you back from estate. Farley's been anxiously awaiting your arrival see you when I get home. Your Cousin, Noah Caswell."
"We'll, Farley, looks like it’s just you and me buddy." Farley looks up at her with his head tilted to the left. She fills his bowls and looks through the pantry. For food. Noah should know better than leave money for her to order food. Whenever she's home, she always cooks. She quietly sings along to the songs on the radio as she cooks the spaghetti and pesto tomatoes sauce.
After finishing she sits t the counter Farley resting comfortably at her feet. She eats dinner alone in her uncle’s house. Sadly, it’s something that she's gotten used to.
