I could tell he hit a nerve in them as they both charged at him in anger.
"We can do what we want shrimp!" One man yelled. They were much larger and I got worried. Wait what? No if they do anything to him they're dead for sure!
He quickly took them down in a matter of seconds though.
I let out a huge sigh of relief and felt a tear roll down me cheek. I closed my eyes to clear my mind but I felt a warm blanket like cloth get draped over my shoulders. I shot my eyes open to see Link very close as he wrapped his coat around my shoulders.
"I'm very sorry about that." He spoke softly. But the only thing I felt was humiliation.
"Th... thank you..." I looked down as more and more tears piled up in my eyes. Stop crying... stop it! But it was too late, "I was weak... no... I am weak." I hissed, "Someone compliments me with ill intentions and I know what there up to but I- I freeze even when I know they don't mean it."
Link grabbed my chin and brought my face to meet his, "You're not weak." He gave me a serious look, "You we're smart and didn't attempt to harm them in case something happened between our kingdoms."
"But I ran... I fell... and they almost..." I sobbed, "I-I'm sorry... It's been a while since I've let my emotions run wild like this."
"I understand..." He said softly, "when I saw you leave, two men followed so I wanted to make sure you were ok."
"After I told you off and wanted to be alone? Thanks though... I don't know what I would've done." I said with a hoarse voice, "you don't need to worry about me anymore though you can head back now. I'm perfectly fine on my own!" That was a lie. I stood up but stumbled almost immediately as Link dove down to catch me.
"No your not." He said sternly as he bent down and picked me up bridal style.
"U-Uh What are you doing?!" I tensed up and didn't know what to do, "where are we going?!"
"Back to your room."
"What?! Why?!" I nearly yelled.
"You've scraped your arm and look exhausted. You need rest." He pointed out.
That's when I felt a sting on my elbow as the adrenaline began to wear off, "oh... well I think I should be fine until the end of the party!" I nervously laughed.
"No." Wow the audacity- , "you've been through enough tonight." Oh well never mind. He looked down at me and smiled with kind eyes.
"Maybe you're right... thank you." I shyly mumbled. My feet are killing me.

We made it back to my room and Link brought me inside and sat me down in the bed, bandaged me up, left so I could change into the night gown they left me and came back in to make sure I was going to bed like he wanted me to.
"You know..." I began with a smile as Link looked at me with curious eyes, "you're just like my mother when she was still here." I giggled.
"What?" He was taken aback, "I'm no mother."
"You sure act like one haha!" I couldn't stop laughing.
"In what ways?!" Link dramatically questioned.
"Well for one... you're very stern like one. You seem like you'll always keep me out of trouble. You're also very kind when you need to be and when you know you are doing something for my own good you don't take no for an answer. Can you cook?"
