A Long Way From Home

The fight

Hoseok's POV

Yesterday, Jungkook and Taehyung got to meet the girl that I met a few days ago. Although, we didn't actually ever meet. It's risky for me to go and see her as a human now, but each day I hope that she's a hybrid like me. I was in the kitchen eating breakfast with Finn and Embry. Finn is our pack's Delta, meaning he is the messager of our group. Whenever I need him to give other packs a message he'll risk his life to tell them whatever I have to say. I gave him that job because he was very brave and he volunteered to take the position. I admire his courage and how he never backs down from anything. Embry is our pack's Mu, which is a peace keeper. She keeps the peace between our pack and makes sure that there are never any fights. She may not be able to break up the fights, but she has such a way with words that sometimes a fight won't even happen. I gave her the position because she was very happy about being able to help our members get along better because she just has such a big heart. I admire her bubbly personality and the way she gets people's attention.

Jungkook was outside doing his job as the Epsilon should. He's the guardian after all and he is always up to keep everyone safe. I heard growls and snarling from outside and sighed knowing that there was something going on outside. Nothing is ever calm in our world. I walk outside to see Jungkook lunging at another wolf that is trespassing. Fortunately, it's not one of Sirius' members. Unfortunately, if I don't stop Jungkook he might kill the stray. I changed into my wolf form and quickly got between Jungkook and the stray showing my teeth to them both. That was me telling them to "cut it out before someone gets hurt" and they both stopped fighting. I still heard them growling at each other. Embry came out of the house and walked over to the three of us, I was glad to see her.

"Guys, there is no need to fight." She said calmly and we all looked at her. The stray started to snap at her because she came out of nowhere and he looked at her with such an intense look I was afraid that he was going to hurt her. Jungkook immediately stepped in front of him snapping his jaw at him and growling really loud, So loud that the stray winced from it. Embry put her hand on Jungkook's side and pet him a bit to calm him down. He looked back at her and lowered his head signaling her to pet him there. She did just that as she laughed a little. The stray changed back into his human form and had his head down.

"I-I'm so sorry." He said quietly as Jungkook and Embry looked at him. I changed back into my human form and walked up behind him.

"What are you doing, trespassing in my territory?" I said with a serious tone. He looked at me with his eyes wide.

"I-I didn't know, I'm really sorry. I'll leave if I'm bothering you and your pack." He said with a soft voice.

"That won't be necessary." Embry said with a smile as the stray looked at her.

"You just frightened my friend here and made our Alpha worry because we heard you two fighting." Embry explained.

"Thank you, Embry. What's your name, kid?" I said as he turned his attention towards me.

"Dixon," he said as he swallowed.

"Well, Dixon, I'm Hoseok. Do you have a pack of your own?" I asked him.

"No, sir." He responded looking at the ground again.

"Well, if you behave yourself, then you're welcome to join my pack. We're actually in need of a new Upsilon." I replied as I saw him relax. Jungkook's ears perked up as I saw him look over at me.

"Thank you, I would be honoured to be your Upsilon, as long as I can get this guy to like me." Dixon said as he motioned to Jungkook. Jungkook looked at him and changed back into his human form.

"You'll have to make it up to me, Dixon." Jungkook said with a smirk making Dixon swallow again.

"Oh, shit." Dixon said quietly as Jungkook laughed.

"Dude, I'm kidding! If Hoseok is okay with you here, then so am I." Jungkook smiled and Dixon nervously smiled back.

"Oh, haha." Dixon laughed.

"I like you already." I smiled as Dixon looked over at me smiling bright.

Later that day, as everyone was settling in. Asher came rushing into the house panting, his face looked pale as he stood there making everyone look at him weird.

"What's wrong?" I said looking at him with my eyebrow raised a bit.

"Come... quickly... Sirius... and his... pack... outside..." he said fully out of breath from running here. Immediately after he said that Jungkook, Yoongi, Taehyung, Ash, Scar, Fang and I rush outside and changed into our wolf forms.

"Ahh, the man of the hour. The infamous Jung Hoseok." Sirius said as he looked at me and the others that came outside. I changed into my human form and gave him a death stare.

"What the fuck do you want?" I said with anger in my voice. He laughed and put his hands up in surrender.

"Oh, I'm so intimidated.. not. Look, pal.. I found these two pretty wolves wandering your territory and thought I should let you know. I am respecting the rules about not chasing them when they're in your territory but if you don't deal with em, then.. I'm just going to have to break some rules." He mocked and laughed. I heard Jungkook growl low and then Sirius' wolf pack did the same.

"Okay? I'll deal with them. I don't know why you're so concerned all of a sudden about the rules because you've never followed them before." I said confused and laughed a bit myself.

"Got me there." Sirius laughed sarcastically.

"That's all you had to say, huh?" I huffed.

"Yep. For now." He smirked. As soon as he did he changed back into his wolf form, snarled and took off with his pack. When he was gone two young females came out from behind the bushes and walked up slowly to us. They changed back into their human forms and smiled.

"Thank you so very much." One of them said as some of the members that came out with me turned back into their human forms and walked back to the house knowing there wasn't going to be a fight.

"You're welcome." I said back to the two girls.

"My name is Yuki, and this is my younger sister Mikumi. We were chased by them for several miles until we reached your house and they stopped chasing us." Yuki said as her sister nodded. I looked back to see Jungkook and Yoongi both standing behind me. I turned back to the girls and smiled.

"I'm Hoseok, I'm sorry that they chased you. If you'd like you can come inside and we can talk." I explained as both girls nodded and followed me inside. After we sorted out that they would be staying with us, I told Asher, Cayden and Dixon to scout for the night until they're sure that Sirius and his pack aren't around.
